Just watched the Ao Ashi finale, and I felt it had an excellent first season. I hope this show gets many more seasons.
Not only a great Soccer anime, but a great anime in the general sense. It did an amazing job with the wide variety of characters. Also the obvious couple in this is done very very well and is better then majority of romance anime.

Yeah, I was very surprised how good it was and they did payoffs well. I also thought in match animations were good too for the most part and it's great to see a sports anime about a somewhat pro level team. I feel most sports anime usually aim for underdog school that shocks everybody by getting star players. From sports animes I've watched I feel only Ace of Diamond and this show was about a top team. Also, I felt the show did a good job explaining soccer tactics and terminology well so if you don't know soccer well it educated you.

Lycoris recoil did a good job with the ending. There are still a good amount of things they could pick up for for a potential S2. It's hard to see that not happening given how stupidly popular this show is in general and especially Japan. Easily best original we've got since Odd Taxi.

Really happy that they delivered on the ending. Majima was a great antagonist and while it is weird how he keeps surviving he was great. The whole fight between him and Chisato was very good. Also, the troll countdown by Majima was great.

I don't think anyone was expecting Mika to come out and take down Shinji's assistant. He def got that one on Shinji. Just like Mika said, he has the concept of being a parent backwards. Happy it was Mika that killed him, that was a great scene.

And thanks to that Chisato is alive. The remaining part of the episode was cute. Tho great job at making us think Chisato died. Really happy with the ending. The show seems way too popular not to get an S2.

Also finished the other main original of the season, Engage Kiss. This episode summed up this show. When it focuses on action and drama it's fantastic like in the first half of this episode. But when it starts focusing on romance and comedy like in the 2nd half of this episode it becomes really mid to put it nicely. With how great the last few episodes have been ending like that is pretty disappointing.

A classic case of inconsistency of trying to do too much. Like a Power forward who can dominate the paint settling for 3 point shots half the time.

I’m really shocked that Kenshin is coming back. I didn’t know this til today.

I enjoyed it when it came out on Toonami and that one show called Samurai X.

Yeah, Lycoris was a really fun show and it's pretty clear they want to do a season 2. It's always nice when an anime original doesn't get ruined near/with the end.

Ao Ashi was cool. To me though, it was hard to watch when it came to explaining really basic stuff about football but that's every sports anime except a very select few. I agree that the romance was done way better than 95% of the series of that genre :pachaha:

Fall season looks pretty fukking insane. We about to go from a couple of dope shows a week to a whole bunch of them :blessed:

I’m still pissed about the Cyberpunk ending. I swear creators just wanna piss people off.

At least Bleach is making up for it.

:mjlol: :mjlol:

This part of the Soul Society arc is straight fire. All these fights going on. I wonder if this is the best arc in the show.

I couldn’t have been watching this arc at a better time.

I think Blue Lock might be more up your alley based on what I heard about it.

But the fact that we got 7 shows that I'd argue are must watch in CSM, SxF, Mob, Golden Kamuy, Blue Lock, Eminence in Shadow, The Witch from Mercury and Bleach (if you are caught up) is crazy to me.

Yeah, I don't think Lycoris was flawless or anything like that. But it was a really cool show that had a nice ending. Anime originals don't always get to stick the landing and they did with this one, regardless of some very obvious "we wanna make a season 2" troupes.

STR is one of my favorites of the year. It isn't able to pull my heartstrings like Made In Abyss but the way they were able to stretch the loop gimmick with clever twists and the way they made Shide one of the most formidable villains I've seen in a long, long time deserves major props.
