Bleach was great again this week. I'm liking how subdued the colors are in this adaptation, gives this sense of dread like something catastrophic is about to happen. Lot of gore already & Yhwatch seems to be the most intimidating bleach villain to date. Feels a lot more seinen than shounen (and thats a good thing)

they also violin remixed one of the sad osts. this one I think

Loving the violence, adds a very real feel to the brutality of the Quincies. The score & muted colors you mentioned also build on that. Props to Ishida for standing on his square and saying fukk saving the opps.

Grandfather didn't die for nothing.

I'm not gonna lie, once again it could be the nostalgia talking, but Bleach is feeling like it's about to be something really, really special. I mean the tone, the art, the violence, this feels like a version of Bleach deep down I always felt we should have been getting, but never actively thought about it. I mean it always felt different (cooler, more mature) than the other big 3, but it was animated essentially the same as them back in the day.

The violence, soundtrack, and animation this ep has me hyped for what's the come man.

Never in your life compare Bleach animation to early One Piece. :scust:

That aside, style has never been the problem. It's consistency in tone and pacing, so I'm cautiously optimistic 2 episodes in.

I felt like y'all oversold Blue Lock

:francis:

I'll keep it on my list as it drops weekly but I'm pretty meh on it so far.

Sounds like you don't have that dog in you :umad:

I can relate because I was on a soccer team as a kid. I was a ball hog who never passed because my teammates were trash. I scored like 95% of the goals. They hated me for it but I could've been the egoist striker that finally won the World Cup for America:wow:

Glad the dog in you led you here to be a top tier poster on Thecoli.

CSM episode 2 was really fun. They nailed Pow-wah.

It seems MAPPA opted to skip about half of chapter 2 of the manga, that or it'll be out of order. After Makima takes Denji to the udon shop he's supposed to kill a devil solo & save a little girl which then proves his worth as a...dog.

I can understand them wanting to skip that just to get to the Power intro ASAP. She's probably gonna be the most popular character in this.

yeah I think they did it to speed up pace, because the devil fight really isn't needed for the story

also I think they did it to increase Makima's likeability, to make her seem like she cares for Denji a bit more

*edit* how do you get the spoiler button instead of the blurry line?

That'd be an interesting way to make the reveals later on more impactful. Hide some of the clues here and there.

I go to more options and click spoiler. you get that blur if there's an I before SPOILER in the code. Tbh i don't even know how people do that without manually typing it.

oh I see now. there's two different more options tabs. the one on the right gives the button. towards the left is the Inline Spoiler which gives the blur

Just finished episode 2 of chainsaw man and it still remains pretty meh...

The premise isn't really all that engaging. I'm not really sold on the cast yet either.

I'm assuming it picks up later with the amount of ridiculous hype that it had.

:picard: brehs, this episode of Bleach felt heavy as shyt. oppressive atmosphere all over.

It's like they threw Bleach and Hellsing Ultimate into a blender.

:heh: on a lighter note, imagine the world ending fukkery happening in an alternate timeline where Ichigo keeps his bedroon window closed and locked.

That's something I didn't get with the manga until my third reread of it. The clues are ALL there, but they're subtle as shyt. They're LITERALLY right in your face.

:francis: except the "Chainsaw Man's Origin/True Nature" reveal. It really doesn't get much more left field/ass pull than that.

edit: also, I said I wasn't gonna watch for how, but I had to see what they did to Power.

And Power is perfect.

Power and Makima prolly gonna wind up in r/anime's "Best Girl 100" top 10 by the end of the season.
