The biggest knock against this series is going to be all the edits and dialing back they had to do to Shigaraki. He had some KILLER panels in the manga and more brutality they've edited out smh

I still think that the OG run was top 3, but little stuff light emphasizing the character moments a bit more has been a great touch. Like emphasizing exactly *why* Yang couldn't put himself in that dictator role despite having all the gifts, charm, power and momentum to do it. This is quickly catching up to the original for me and it's not just the reinvigorated sense you usually have seeing an older show with new animation. The little things they're doing to flesh out this enormous universe, everything they do has weight to the point where seemingly minor interactions have reverberations, you get to see little twists on the core characters but it doesn't lessen them at all.
Even the opening & closing is a bop. I think we're the only ones watching this but that's an L for everyone else.
