Say brehs,

I was just thinking of random animes that I kinda watched that would come on Showtime or some random shyt.

1. GTO
2. Soul Taker
3. X. (I think that’s the name, it was a movie)
4. 3x3 Eyes
5. Blue Seed

Y’all ever seen those?

How y’all feel about them if y’all did?

:jbhmm::jbhmm:
I never watched the anime, but I liked the manga of GTO. It’s really funny

Speaking of throwbacks, does anyone remember Iria: Zeiram the Animation? It would marathon randomly on Sci-Fi and any time I could catch it, I would sit and watch. I never hear it get love.

3x3 Eyes was the first anime I ever watched (that I knew was anime). I used to break into my sister's house to watch it over and over while she was at work. (they had cable, I didn't):heh:

I'm a HUGE fan of X (and the series X/1999) and everything else CLAMP (the all female group of mangaka that did the story) does. The series gives you MUCH more insight into all the members of the Dragons of Heaven/Dragons of Earth. Can't really compress a story like that into a movie format (plus CLAMP changed the ending due to a mass casualty earthquake)

yeah, X was my first real foray into just how deep and real the world of anime/manga was as compared to western storytelling- not just animation.

The mere concept that earth was gonna be destroyed and it was a foregone conclusion, it was just a matter of HOW.... ON TOP of the concept that no matter how much you try to change and fight it (even if you die), some destinies just can't be changed. :wow:

:russ: then the fact I was watching episodes of X and then Gurren Lagann (Destiny can be changed.... if you fight hard enough) back to back....

:whew: and squeezing episodes of Chobits (is love really love if you're taught/programmed to love someone? Do people need people if they have artificial "companionship"?) between those

Shows got me through the lowest point of my life (especially Gurren Lagann) :mjcry:

yeah, I've seen it a few times. But I can only remember it in bits and pieces.
That's how it is for me. I remember the main villain being a menace. He had one of the freshest villain designs I'd seen, and always popped up to beat Iria's ass. I have no clue how it holds up, but I remember thinking the action scenes were epic.
