So many anime don't feel original anymore. (Which might be more a Manga and Light Novel issue since that is the source of these stories) Which is fine if stuff bites off the success of another. Like Buddy Daddies off of Spy x Family, but it brings its own unique charm.

But too many times you get shows that feel like a copy and paste of another.

that was a pretty interesting video. I think the problem with romance as a genre is that it fits too easily into every other genre. You can create a romance plot everywhere.

And if you don't include a romance plot, the target audience for Shoujo will just make one themselves and start shipping random characters with limited interaction. Shinobu and Giyu from Demon Slayer are damn near considered married despite limited interaction between the two.

That's just storytelling in general. When you boil everything down, there are few truly unique ideas out there. They're usually similar with a slight twist.

The reason we're feeling it so much is because anime is blooming as an industry and all types of adaptations are getting thrown at us nonstop.

Probably because of all the LN adaptations. Light Novels are unoriginal because the fans will eat it up regardless. They just want an isekai or an OP protagonist, doesn’t matter if the story is good or not

Manga isn’t nearly as bad, its mostly when they use tropes. Lots of Action and Romance manga suffer from this and it makes the plot predictable. If it’s ecchi then the story is probably trash anyway.

I don’t always need something to be original because with all art/entertainment you’ll see lots of similarities, but I do love when a series feels like the author put their own style or heart into it. There’s a difference between biting and being inspired, blatant rip offs simply lack soul and creativity and since anime is popping right now we get a lot of those.

Romance main problem to me was always how long it takes for the characters relationships to progress, it’ll take the whole series just for them to get together.

For a lot of these series the point is to maintain the romantic tension not show an actual relationship. There has to be roadblocks in the way of the relationship. The protagonist being dense is an excuse to have the waifu bait female lead dote on him while keeping their relationship at a standstill.

You have to give the characters development so the problem isn’t necessarily the relationship taking long, it’s more the lack of real development and poor execution

If it has multiple love interest I can understand but if it’s just 1 and there’s barely any development it feels like the author is just BS’ing

They also play around. They’ll go to see the fireworks, 1 of them will say “I love you” and the fireworks will go off and the other replies “huh? What did you say?”

Wtf is with Kenpachi’s new voice? That shyt is horrible. It hurts my ears every time he talks.



I think I like Histuguya’s and 69’s Zanpaktous the best.

Histuguya’s Zanpaktou looks like it would be a good villain, better than the current one.

69’s Zanpaktou reminds me of Green Goblin or Hobgoblin.

Ichigo teaming up with his hollow and doing that move on his Zanpaktou was some ill shyt.

This arc has been flames though, straight #ActionGang almost everyone catching fades.

Shuhei (69) has a sick Zanpaktou, it's really unique and potentially deadly but mans is basically a pacifist. Be a Soul Reaper gifted with a scythe and not be about that life anibrehs.

Almost all the Lieutenants are bums for real.

Speaking of Lieutenants, I’m surprised I have not seen the pink hair chick do nothing at all.

She looks like one of those characters that’s mad powerful on the low.

I’m also surprised I haven’t seen Inoue, however the fukk you spell her name, fight either.
