The lack of respect modern anime kids/fans have for the shows that came before "the big 3" is frankly disgusting
The next time some uninformed little anime dweeb tries to tell me about the fraudulent "big 3" in anime (OP/Naruto/Bleach)
Im just going to post this image.
Im sick of the disrespect for the OGs. Specifically DragonBall.
I just had to tell my nephew and his lil friends, the original "big 3", the ones responsible for making anime popular on this side of the world were:
DragonBall
Sailor Moon
Pokemon
shyt, it was called "Japanimation" over here before those 3 hit.
Those are the 3 anime responsible for making anime popular in the western world. Before them, watching anime would get you laughed at and clowned on in the west.
And NONE more so than DragonBall. When DBZ hit that Toonami block it was the GAME CHANGER.
And these new age anime kids don't get it.
I told them lil nikkas, DB alone has had more impact on anime in one show than all the "big 3" have had combined.
Can you name a more iconic and influential transformation than Super Saiyan? No
Can you name a more iconic and influential attack than the Kamehameha? Nope.
Can you name a more iconic and influential fight in the HISTORY of anime than fukking Goku vs Frieza? Nope.
This is without even mentioning fukking Goku

. Can you name a more recognizable anime character worldwide than Goku? Only one. Pikachu. Funnily enough, part of the real "big 3".
Lets not even bother mentioning the ABSURD sales of the Pokemon games. Pokemon Go was a got damn worldwide phenomenon.
And im not even going to bother mentioning the impact SailorMoon had on young girls back in the day.
Who the fukk gave the term "big 3" to naruto/OP/bleach anyways? Kids born in 2000? Sure they sell a lot, but their IMPACT pales in comparsion to these shows.
DBZ had more impact and influence on anime in the Frieza saga alone than they all did combined. FACTS
Hell, Ultra Instinct is what, like 5 years old? I'd argue its ALREADY more recognizable, more referenced and more influential than anything in those "big 3" worldwide. I never in my life have heard Red Roc referenced anywhere outside of a dweeb anime convention.
