As far as the adaptation is concerned Mappa knocked it out of the park. Animation looked great especially the Hange scene in particular was a great one. If the animation from here holds up into the next part this will be a fire action episode.

Tho the part towards the end of it when Eren says he is letting them fight because he doesn't want to take away their freedom. Could there be more to it then that? I doubt it. But if he really about the genocide plan why even leave a single possibility for failure.

But I came from watching it and as a prescreening of ep 1 and not as a movie I liked it. We get to see more of the upper moon Demons and for a sec I thought the Upper Moon One guy was Tanjiro's father. But na it seems to be someone he is acquainted with. Personalities are very interesting to say the least.

Imo if you read the manga just wait imo.
