The novels are almost always better. Let's say the novels are 5 hours a piece to read. 3 of them are 15 hours of reading. 22 minutes 12 episodes is 4 and a half hours.

30% of the read time. Plenty of stuff has to be cut and glossed over to make that work. It's unavoidable.

Japan eats up these shyt iseaki adaptations time and time again regardless of quality. Even if the source is solid more times then not the adaptation will be bad.
