It is a movie trilogy to finish the final arc. Might be worth waiting till the 3rd movie has concrete release date unless you don’t mind waiting.

Hopefully the 2nd one gets officially announced at the end of the first film. I can’t imagine it’s not one per year type of deal.
Honestly we getting it with 2 months is a blessing. Anime movies used to take forever before coming here.

I mean outside the case of old school long-running anime and Monogatari each cour will push a different opening and ending. It is very much of Japanese culture at this point. As there is a lot of anticipation of the new song in each cour. Pushing songs and money obviously is a big deal, plus it is a marketing ploy to get people to pay attention to the anime. People hear a new song and see that it's from an anime, they will check the anime out. Won't happen with an old song, regardless how great it is. You do have some 2 cour anime that do that, but that rarely happens nowadays.
Also, looking through the lyrics itself, Turbo Granny is a big part of it and with the theme of S2 that would be out of place. Tbh there are many openings and endings that can convey a lot about what the anime will be about. These never getting translated is massively annoying because the English audience loses a lot of context.
