Saw "My Neighbor Totoro" in theaters. It's definitely a very charming classic. Although it does feel lacking in many ways. Biggest thing it shows is how the dad and the 2 daughters are doing as their mom is in the hospital.
  • The father is always putting a smile on his daughters faces. Despite working long hours along with the condition his wife is.
  • Satsuki is obviously the more mature one regarding the two daughters. She is kind of trying to get a handle of everything, but of course she is still a kid.
  • Mei is the most innocent and was the first to meet Totoro because of it. Though she is unable to escape the fact that her mom needed to stay in the hospital longer.
With that said, I am not sure what the movie was going for. The girls seeing totoro was partially due to their innocence as children. We do get the heartwarming scene of them seeing their mother and Mei leaving the corn. It does seem Totoro's main role is to be there and guide the girls.

Prob rate it 6/10. It's more a film you see with your kids or family.

This show is off to a great start. Interesting to see what happens next.

I do like the added suffering Alicia had to go through to get the Regalia sword. While yes she can't actually die, but getting to the point of near dying but never dying must be so painful. Beneath the ocean with all of those Arvensis lies an Ancient One, which seems like spawn for them. For Alicia, it was merely about getting the sword and surviving. Bandits didn't deserve to be saved, so I'm happy they ended up dying.

Got to love the remark Klen scolding Alicia about why he didn't tell her about magic when of course she had no talent for it. Kind of cool that it isn't like most fantasy where everyone can just use a fire spell even if they aren't a mage. Here you need to possess the talent for magic like the bandit leader. Though the realization that Luna is the only thing stopping Klen is a terrifying sight.

It warms my heart to say even on the cusp of dying, Nell is still trying to save Luna. Though that bandit leader was able to connect the pieces of who Luna is, it was quite impressive. Got to say he probably could have gotten away safely, but with Luna it was going to be impossible to hide his presence. He was definitely better than the regular bandit leader you see from anime.

We learn that Klen can only control one person with Dark Ichor. Though for Nell, she was savable, thankfully. Honestly, Alicia's willingness to die until Nell was patched up gave me a lot of respect for her. She isn't just talk, and she knows how important Nell, or rather Neruru is for Luna going forward. Great start for this show; can't wait to watch more.

It's another one of these shows that has a heavy old school feel to it and I like that they don't shy away from the gore/violence but don't go OD with it either.

The end to the latest episode had me :dead: though. Nell now a full on fanservice device for them otaku incels and Alicia getting used to dying :mjlol:

The gratuitous depravity/fanservice is as old school as it gets though :pachaha: I grew up on anime being like this for no damn reason so when a show is worth a damn, I don't mind it :russ:
