Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show is the only anime original this season I am invested in. It's a bit over the top a bit. Makes for an entertaining watch. Could be better if it dived into psychological horror more though. It would be nice if it dives more into it with all the Kanna stuff this episode.

For Call of the Night S2 Episode 2.

This episode adapted chapters 48, 49, 50, the beginning of 51, & 54.

The direction for this anime during that whole Ko & Kiku scene was absolutely on point. Like holy crap, that was great.

It's a great example of how you can amplify tension in a scene with just dialogue. Going from Ko noticing Kiku is a vampire. For him to think Kiku can be good as she asks him not to tell Mahiru. Then seeing her about to kill Ko if Mahiru wasn't there. Her smirk as she knows she pulled Mahiru in.

Another point is how the background changes. White to give focus to the scene. Red focuses on the horror as showing Kiku is not one to mess with and even is about to kill him. Back to golden as Mahiru enters the picture. The vibrant colors add so much to these scenes and elevate the manga.

Man, Klen really put Ogre parts in Nell to save her. :picard:

Lot of great worldbuilding is done in this episode. Adding more intrigue going forward.

Great episode for expanding the world more. The first being that there are more Dark Beasts getting involved. The Dark Beasts of the West Zavither of Phantasms. Though unlike Klen, Zavither is more interested in humans. Though for her to go after humanity before Klen is interesting. The Origttes basically worshipped her, so it makes you wonder what has changed.

Dark beasts vanishing one after the other pushed her to her limit most likely. Though for now Gart is investigating, so it could turn ugly soon. Though it is turning more fukked up with buying babies & kidnapping dark beasts.

To even add to that point is magic. It is an interesting element that has a more mysterious vibe than most other series. As we learn here, wizards are a major force now, as with the war between Eslinn & Boelate. Boelate, in particular is just bad news all around. To add motivation, General Drel, who serves Boelate, killed Alicia's father.

Eslinn looks to be severely behind Boelate in both preparation & information. As Boelate has already infiltrated Hiden. Boelate getting the forge from the Hiden Royal Family would make them more than likely by far the biggest power among the factions. Meynard Swan being Boelate's promising wizard. He knows about Luna & even where she is as well. The term royal blood also only applies to Luna, so I am curious about the crown princess. Is she the one who arrived at Hiden after Klen wiped them out?

Just watched 1st episode of To Be Hero X. Kinda like it but not a big fan of 3d instead of 2d animation. It reminds me too much of watching Miraculous with my daughters. Gonna stick with it and see where it goes :ehh:

Call of the Night S2 Episode 3 covered chapters 55, 56, 57, and the first 5 pages of chapter 58. Along with taking the spreads of the manga and really taking them up a notch, how they really maximize the manga's paneling in the anime. The Anko, Seri, Hatsuka & Akkun interactions highlights this.

A bit concerning that it is going from David Prod to E&H Production. With that being said, Sunghoo Park is involved and given that it is a special should be fine.

Undead Unluck is right behind CSM Pt. 1 in terms of nailing an ending for a shounen which is rare not to mention how creative and well thought out the series is much like CSM.

Still excited to see how the special is given how it is adding stuff that wasn't present in the manga. Though I do worry about a potential S2 then again Fire Force would be done by that point since I think they share the same team?

Good episode, deez.

I had forgot about pink-hair girl, good to have her back in the mix.

I feel like Studio Bones is really taking their time with Gachiakuta's plot. They definitely extended the plunger scene to max out the comedy. I don't mind, but I'm impatient for some of the dope character designs and the real action to start.

Time to catch up on Kaiju No. 8's couple of episodes.

Well it’s 24 episodes straight so it could be similar to JJK S1. That one really took its time too.

Episode 2 was more the episode that place me faith in this adaptation.
