I feel like Shield Hero Peaked at the first 12 episodes of the first season

Maybe it’s because they toned down his personality in the anime but these later seasons are not hitting like there supposed to:francis:

That part of the manga they just covered was the last time it was good...its nothing to see after that sadly

Clevatess is so much better than anything else airing right now :wow:

Bored to death of these overhyped paint-by-numbers Shonen
We do have the CSM movie, but an enriched dark fantasy with top-notch world-building. Characters are also excellent as well. If only Berserk could get an adaptation even of this level, even if it wouldn't live up to the manga. Some other shows I will mention

  • Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentosho - One thing to mention is the visuals and animation of this show are at best servicable to at times bad. But man the story and characters are 10/10 for me. You actually feel watching this that the author is talented. There is a lot of beauty to how this show is written after episode 1. Truly a story that is about the journey of Jinya more than his destination.
  • The Summer Hikaru Died - One thing to mention. The two MCs are queer. If that bothers anyone, then this isn't for you. With that being said, this is a top-notch supernatural horror mystery. One of the best horror adaptations we've had in a long, long time. Of course this is boys love subtext, but it isn't the focus of the series.
  • Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun - The manga is fantastic. But the anime is a hard sell since it messed up with the adaptation for S1 since it skipped what would be the hook in the manga. S2 rebounded really well. Unlike Dandadan (which I don't think is a good supernatural series.) Hanako-kun is a great supernatural mystery series. It is a slow burn, but how it builds itself slowly by slowly is great. It looks like a supernatural rom-com at first, but then it prioritizes itself by being more of a supernatural psychological mystery. The recent manga arc has lots of psychological horror to it. Anime doesn't do the manga justice, but it's pretty good.
  • Call of the Night - Man being directed by the Monogatari 2nd Season & Final Season co-director. The anime, IMO, blows away the manga with how great of an adaptation it is. A mix of vampires, SoL comedy & romance. Though the romance is more thematic than the majority of these regular romances, which I think greatly works in its favor. Plus how it deals with the mental issues of various characters is extremely well done. S2 really highlights it with it's two big arcs.
Water Magician is a really slow burn, but it's a good immersive isekai. Hotel Inhuman takes the monster-of-the-week formula approach but applies it to assassins. With You and the Rain is perfect for anyone who likes the feel-good, relaxing slice-of-life shows. Insanely great art, music, & comedy direction.
Fermat Kitchen, written by the Ao Asahi author, is basically Food Wars without the ecchi. Applying math to cooking is definitely interesting.

Regarding some of the more formulaic battle shounens:

Dandadan as a RomCom and SoL is more what sets it apart, as it is basically a rom-com masquerading as a battle Shounen. Since the latter elements aren't anything special, imo. For Gachiakuta the world building and power system are very near. Though besides that, it's your typical battle shounen. I am happy people here are enjoying Sakamoto Days. But even with the improvements in Part 2, it doesn't hold up to how dynamic the choreography is in the manga. I sincerely hope they give it a bigger budget because the S2 arcs will really need it. This series has always been typical battle shounen, but with good execution and feeling more fresh than the more shameless ones I mention below.

Kaiju 8 and Tougen Anki feel like they got a checklist of shyt you've seen. You probably could have called these series AI generated honestly. :mjlol:

fukk them for cheapening out on this adaptation :mjcry:

Manga is great. Supreme art, paneling and style. That whole small routine in the PV looks like they're doing the funky chicken :mjcry:. There is no style to it, man.

Fall is looking even drier since now I don't even want to try this anime now after reading the manga. :mjcry:

Tatsu has a great skill of adapting and writing on the fly. I don't feel he really plans stuff out, but he can get great ideas as he writes.
Yeah, at most he has an idea of what arc he wants to do and then just fills it out with whatever crazy idea he comes up with for a fight (or fights). The fact he still comes up with :mindblown: concepts and draws those insane panels is :wow:

Insane episode :wow:

One of the questions starting with this season was, does one control their fate, or does one's fate control them? One thing we can see is that the kings who were burned by the Furnace Lord had their fate sealed. In the never-ending battle of fake heroes against the Demon Lords. So much so that Luna's father killed himself to avoid it. In reality, what the world is right now is full of bullshyt.

The idea for Alicia is to go past the Demon Lords and discover more of the world. But is that all bullshyt? I do like a lot that Alicia, after her journey, isn't backing down from being a hero. A false hero is more interpretation for her. Sure, she may or may not lack the power. She has seen the power a hero can have with Nell. So there is no reason for her to stop now. Drel's issues are warranted, but he isn't tackling the actual issue at hand. Granted, Alicia & Rod are strong, but no surprise they are not a match against Drel with the backing of a Demon Lord.

So now, as Drel mentions, there are true humans and demons. While current humans are pawns, the true humans are now gone. Book of Tor is the true form of the Furnace Lord. Magic is interesting, as this book instilled in Alicia the desire to go after the Demon Lords and would seal Luna's fate to be a king to repeat the cycle. So much happened for Clevatess to think about everything and to think it was meaningless. What was the true humans purpose in respect to the Demon Lords who existed alongside them, which Clevatess wasn't a part of? It is no surprise that Clevatess is questioning what the point of it all was.

The latest episode was :ohhh: :wow: been a while since I saw one that clicked so many things it was building up to so efficiently.

I still feel we haven't even scratched the surface of the series. Initial questions been answered but new ones show up.

Animation was impressive this episode, you can tell that both the studio and the animators are doing the most out of what they have. I hope we get a continuation and they get a bigger budget, it seems pretty clear it's a passion project for the people involved in it.
