Ngl, that episode was so overdone. They needed some restraint. They were doing way too much

The animation in this latest episode of JJK was meh. Maki vs that lower Zenin unit shouldve been done way better. Lots of still images with blood splatter effects. People killed OPM S3 for the same type of BS.

I think it was pretty evident Mappa had to cut corners, they adapted 5 chapters in 1 episode for a reason. But if they gonna cut corners, this type of smoke and mirrors gets the job done every time imo. Here is where direction can make an episode feel special -which happened with this ep, considering the overall praise it's gotten- with the use of shots, colors, atmosphere and music.

I didn't even bother with OPM S3 but none of the clips from it were anywhere close to what Goshozono did with Maki's slaughter. Only thing I can think of was the still legs gliding on the ground (like 3 times in the ep, lol) but you compare those with the infamous Garou gliding down a hill and it's night and day breh, come on. There's a sense of speed and actual "movement" with Maki even though it's a still frame because again, they had one of the best directors out there taking care of it trying to focus the attention on other stuff during the fight.
