Decided to give Darwin Incident a chance because of reactions ITT and the show is solid. I'm very confused that it's MAL score is 6.61 because its def better than a lot of recent shows. On episode 6 and I see there's a warning, so I assume this is going to get crazy

I already know what JJK can do with the action but the quiet moments when they're just talking or talking and walking is truly some cinematic flexing. The overhead shot in the opening, the walk down the steps, the ending with the split screen. You don't even get that in live action films.

Just like I couldn't (and still can't tbh) understand all the praise Takopi's Original Sin got last year as some sort of well written depiction about trauma -and not just non intentional hilarious fukkery-, I'm equally at Darwin's Incident getting blasted in reviews after the first 3-5 episodes.

Yes, the vegan/progressive stuff and the animal right's portion of the story is not very well done at first, but by episode 6 you at least get a more grounded approach to this wild ass premise. And to be honest Charlie just don't give a fukk I think it's pretty well made how ridiculous humans act towards different topics and this humanzee is having a completely different experience/perspective. It makes me believe the author is very aware of the flaws all parties involved have, and it uses the MC as a way of telling us how fukking dumb we can be.

Episode 6 and 7 were real tension right there.

The opening is CLASSIC anime soundtrack vibes, one of the few shows i never skip the intro for


And that ending always hit cuz Lucy doing the at how stressful the episode was before pivoting to another classic anime sounding jam


This show completely ignores whatever trends are popping in anime yet still feels like an original show from back in the day im rolling
