I still think Mappa has a shyt ton of talented people that can take over though (like the jreh that was the only key animator for the previous episode
) but it remains to be seen if whoever they chose -cour 2 for this season been in production for a while, supposedly- is gonna be as cinematic as Gosso. Dude has elevated every single ep. this season imo. There's a couple of them that would've been complete throwaways without the choice in direction/panneling/color/angles/etc.
I've rewinded Higuruma's first attack, after the first sentencing, like 5 times already. Him just throwing the hammer, moving it and then hitting Yuji with it multiple times is
and it only gets better after that, truly special shyt.

there's some episodes were the animation elevates it too.I really like the story tbh, it's been a while since I've seen a show and really wanna know what happens next. If the manga adaptation is worth a damn I'll read it (no light novels for me, MT was the only exception I was willing to do there).

its great but this season been too fire for me to say its the best new show in a while. Hell, Ninja vs Gakudo was just last season lol. Darwin Incident would like a word with you too cuz that been fire this season. Scum of the Brave up there as well. Sentenced to be a Hero got competition.

Darwin Incident is a dope fukking show but Sentenced is the first series in a while were I'm definitely reading what happens next once this season is over, that hasn't happened to me in a while tbh.
Kamuy is too much fucckery but as a fellow veteran of the Zest Wars, I'll leave you to it instead of comparing it to Jojo.its low on the fukkery scale, but Golden Kamuy makes up for that on Monday's

no successful production just let's someone with creative control just walk without leaving their blueprints with the company, it'd completely ruin the continuity of multiple departments. You might be undermining how collaborative the work actually is, nobody can keep any secret sauce to themselves like that.you only see situations like that turn out bad when the talent is based around cultural knowledge, like the Boondocks for example, once Aaron left they didn't have any black people who were tapped in to know what made the show work, Chappelle show was the same way.
this MAPPA director just mimics alot of shyt from live action projects and prolly a few niche directors like you'd see only on Vimeo n shyt, it's just up to them if they wanna put in the extra effort or revert back to doing typical anime shots

you might've just been wanting a good show in this fantasy aesthetic for a while and are hyped you finally got one with a budget, the 4th wall shyt Fire Force is doing and the super layered writing in Darwin Incident is MILES ahead of this show

And that's what we'll find out later in the year with part 2. Like I said, they obviously have the talent to keep this type of vision going but Gosso did put a different touch on the series than Park (season 1 and JJK0) so it's gonna be interesting if whoever takes over keeps this going or tries something else.

I'm on the complete opposite end on everything you said about Sentenced, I'm really curious on pretty much everything they've set up and basically haven't explained shyt yet. The writing is whatever, but they've kept me wanting to know more about the plot, which usually doesn't happen to me with these shows.
