You can do apprenticeships without a degree at any age you'd just need to show why you'd be a good fit for the role and that you have been proactive in showing that you will succeed in said career that the apprenticeship is in. There are no age restrictions on apprenticeships.
Choose an IT career path and study to reach the pinnacle of that path. Eventually you will need the degree to make it easier to level up your position but to get your foot into the door and earn a decent wage you need no degree or credentials except not having criminal record because no one will trust you with their data if you have been nicked for stealing etc.
Driving lorries long distance. These men and women make a fortune just driving.
ANY GOVERNMENT JOBS:
Secret Intelligence.
Police.
Fireman.
Prison Officer. (except when you have to inspect an inmates butt every morning to make sure nothing is hidden in there)
Air Force. (minimal risk of death damn near living like a civilian because you're always inside)![]()

An apprenticeship is a degree. When you apply for apprenticeships you'd choose the level that you're at in life so if you have no BSc degree which is a Level 5 in the British educational system but you have sufficient secondary/high school qualifications (which are Level 3) then you can apply for Level 4 which is basically the foundation year of university before attending your first year of university. This will all be encompassed in an apprenticeship which is why they are 4-5 years because they generally take young adults from 16 til under 25 as they do not have experience so employers pay for the best individual to attend a real university whilst also working on the job. You'd be paid peanuts for these years because in reality your employment is being subsidised with a secure job at the end because you are on their apprenticeship as well as getting a "free" education on your part because the company doing the apprenticeship for you is paying all the fees for your education at a real university. On top of that you'd still get monetary help from the government because you are a student even though you're working.Would it be wise to do an apprenticeship and a degree at the same time ?
You mean talking about a trade like electrician right ?
I also heard they pay very low for the first 5 years until you're a journey man.
How do you do secret intelligence with no degree? Sounds like some degree kind of job.
Thinks it's something someone could deal with for a few years?
shyt stressful.

You can literally pick any trade -- ANYTHING but it's best to choose what you're interested in with support to back this up whether through references like volunteering or showing why are the best for the job. It's nothing more than an interview process to get your education and career path sorted out and for free with little thought on your part because the employer is doing all the leg work. The wouldn't be doing an apprenticeship if they couldn't afford it.
Being an electrician is a good trade but if you could sit behind a desk and not get dirty or have to climb ladders for the same pay, wouldn't you? It's all personal preference.
There are many roles in secret intelligence not just James Bond type niccaz and like the police you just need to meet certain requirements. It's one of the best fields to be in apparently.
If I had no career or specific trade skills I'd just go straight into a government job. The Military (Air Force, Navy and Army) offer apprenticeships too which is why I recommended the Air Force because your risk of death is damn near 0 because you're not going outside.
You're in the same boat as me. I'm in the middle of a career change and am learning a new trade myself to get into IT.Yeah, I'd rather work at a desk, only trade I can think that's like that is IT.
You know any other trades like that?
Here's an IT career path to help you find it easier to specialise a specific skillset in order to earn to your fullest potential depending on the effort you put in.Yeah, I'd rather work at a desk, only trade I can think that's like that is IT.
