Breh I thought I hated "hard work" until I got in it. Ain't shyt hard that's what they don't tell u. The majority of tradesmen want u to think it's hard so the market doesn't get saturated. The first cpl years will be rough but after that it's smooth. You stay in shape and your pockets stay fat.
Hoes love it too:wow: I walk into an office bldg and the women salivate. They love a breh like me compared to these manicured pussies they work with.
Can I pm you some questions bro? Just a young bull tryna make it...:feedme:

:russ: Na breh that's beginner shyt.
I'm a master plumber and I wont unclog a toilet for anyone except fam.
Look at it like this, everyone needs clean water to cook, clean etc. that water has to come in at the right pressure and temperature without contaminates. Water also destroys everything it touches, including the pipes that carry it. It's high demand and its costs a grip to fix.
I'm also NATE certified for hvac. I make my own schedule and charge whatever I want.
Trades are the way to go but most cats (blacks esp) would rather work in an office with cac politics.
:yeshrug:

this. there are still some cac politics in the trades too but it's different. it's definitely more merit based than office work tho.

if a breh is really skilled at his trade, he is going to eat no matter what because no one cares about that when you need to get the thing fixed by yesterday or you need to finish the job today.

in an office, it's harder to tell who are the people carrying the load, but in the trades it's very fukking obvious when someone isn't pulling their weight or doesn't know what they are doing. i knew a guy who could literally watch someone for 5 seconds and instantly know they were gonna be a problem:pachaha: he'd tap me on the shoulder and say look at this guy he's gonna fukking kill us. and then a few hours later we would figure out he'd fukked something up and we'd lose 2-3 hours fixing it. :mjlol:

I'm a Electrician. Go to you local IBEW JATC and fill out an application. You need two years of algebra in high school or two semesters of college math credits. Past electrical work or trade work is preferred.

Wha city you in ???

This is the easiest trade to get into. Heard they were begging for welders. Heard if you have welding experience you can walk around the country to any construction site(technically) and name your price.

At my trade school they are teaching us welding as a bonus class for anyone that wants to learn it.

IBEW Appenticeship program you work 40 hours a week and go to class one a week all day.

It's hard to get in but after you get in that pay ain't no joke

Don't get me started on the amazing benefits and two pensions and all that.

Just to let you know. This trad shyt ain't for the lazy or weak hearted. It's hard work if your not used to the shyt. My dad owns his own building company so I've been doing this type of work since I was old enough to hold a hammer.

you're thinking of repair work, which is not all that plumbers do

i worked on new construction. we installed water supply lines and waste disposal systems. lay the pipe that runs from the street to the home and back before the home is built. then they run all the pipes to the areas where the rooms will be and then after the foundation concrete is in and the frame is up they run the pipes to the kitchens and bathrooms along the walls before any drywall is up. final connections are made to the fixtures after drywall and sinks and toilets are in

some guys have to dig their own trench lines but for the most part they use a machine like a backhoe. the big money is in commercial buildings and track homes.

This man knows. Commercial and Indutrial Electrcian here. People don't understand the work it takes to put up that new Hospital or Casino. But the money is piff. Journeymen Electrcians make 37.14/hr in my local.

We just started a new group trying to make our local more black. We work in a community that is mostly black and white people making all the money. Nah we going to fight to change that.

but at the end of the day lets keep it real. Most idiots can't pass a advanced algebra class so if you can't then this is not the career for you because we take that and put it toward putting electrical lines in buildings

Whatever I'm good. :yeshrug:

Live your own life
This is the kind of discussion I like to see on the Coli. If more brothers open their minds in picking up a trade, the opportunities for them to make money will be infinite. When you have a construction skill, nobody can't take that away from you. It is yours to keep as long as you keep educating yourself. You can lose a job but that skill you hold is golden because there is always going to be residential/commercial customers going to need your service. Your skill is the service that generate capital. More brothers will be inspired to build a business if they pick up a trade.

I maybe in the IT field but I still have knowledge of electricity for residential work. I have a skill that I can fall back on if shyt doesn't work out for me in the IT field..You got to keep a contingency plan on deck. :birdman:

I work with a lot of trades.

Welders, electricians, plumbers make good money.

Stationary engineers make a killing and don't do much of shyt but read gauges all day. Plenty of jobs open too. Easy 100k+

But see if you can get into surveying if you have the altitude for it. You take land readings using lasers and measures and maps. You have to be proficient in math and graphs but the pay is good and it's something different every day.

We gotta get more blacks in these unions! 6 figure jobs out here you don't need a college degree for.
