I'm starting to wonder the ambition's of people on messages boards.

If it has to do with some fukkkery.. Everybody responds. If it's a questions about life and goals.. You get very little responce.

It's probably because most of them are broke

For me, 250k / yr is comfortable. I thought 50k would be comfortable, but now that I'm making 52k, it doesn't feel good enough.

when I first hit 50k I thought I'd be balling. When it happened I was like:wtf: why I still feel broke.

500k for me is def comfortable. nikkas must be acting like uncle same ain't gonna break your pockets. 10k a month is 120k before taxes. After taxes its ~200k. Every time I look at my check I'm like :smh:

- right now in this moment - base gotta be 120-130k with 20-40% EOY incentive (a bytch got student loans :sadbron:)
- goal (by my late 30's) if i never marry is to have a base of 250k and clear 300k when bonuses/equity are added in
- real goal is to get cashed out of a startup for a few million
- if married with kids, i'm aiming for our household income to be 400k+

75k seem like something reasonable

This. i'm only a few thousand from making that (i make 72k) and I live in houston with a family. and a wife that works. it's a comfortable living for me. i can buy what i want and travel where i want anytime i want. i'd like to round that number off to 100k, but i probably won't see that until i'm in my 40s...:manny:

i can tell you what isnt a comfortable salary tho........
I live in NYC and i would say to be comfortable where i lives in Queens, i need 75,000, i make more with bi-annual bonuses and staying below my perks bonus which covers transportation and such. So yes 75k min.

I used to live off 150k in Manhattan and it was comfortable for someone in their mid twenties. If I continued to be single, would need 200k+ and if married 500k+
This i agree with, my friends in Manhattan make no less than 250k a year, some make more, i been trying to get my money right then get the job that pays 125k because women in NYC do not want to even speak to you if not making over 200k per year.

What in THE HELL is ya'lls definition of comfortable... If you live in NY or something, Okay. Then I can understand the higher numbers. But if you have any financial sense and you live down south, a single, no kids income of 40-50K should be comfortable quite comfortable.

I make like 43K (fiance' makes like 47K and gets a 5k raise next month) and I don't have any worries.... The only reason I have debt (other than salliemae) is because I'm getting married in like a month and we've been spending money on stuff for that. But that will all be gone because we're not registering... we're doing a "wishing well" (cash) and we're having almost 300 people at the wedding. :shaq:

All I have to pay are the normal bills like rent ($850), electric, cable/internet/phone, cell phone, insurance...

I'm paying off her engagement ring/wedding band (only have like $600 left so it will be paid off in two months)

I pay my student loans every month (like $200)... and I pay down my credit card debt every month, which once again will be paid off after the wedding, and I still have money left over to what I want. We went to Vegas for new year's, we're going to DR for our honeymoon, and I'm going to NY for Labor Day (Gotta see all my Guyanese folk at Juve!)... And going to probably two Giants games (ATL and Carolina)....

My girl just got a new car and my car is paid off, and we're planning on moving into a house within the next year (you can get a 4/5 bedroom 2700+ sqft for like 175K in the suburbs of ATL) .... :yeshrug:

Oh yea.... and I still add to my 401K (6% match) and my investment account every month. :takedat:

wtf are ya'll doing if you need 150K to live comfortably as a single person. My parents don't even break 250K on a consistent basis and they're living in a 5 bedroom house with 3 kids (the first 3 are grown now), my pops just got a hummer, my mom just got an Acura crossover, and they have 6 figures and counting saved up, they travel all the time, and they give 10% in tithes religiously :krs:

So what are ya'll doing with all this money?

u and ur girl live together?

I make $30k/yr working in IT, still in college, 23 y/o, live at home.

Contribute to my Roth IRA yearly ($2000/yr), 401k (6% match), pay my car note/cell phone bill and still have enough to do whatever I feel like each month to an extent.

:yeshrug:

But real talk I'd like to make $125k+/yr.
