Someone posted a video claiming Lebron don't have "killer instinct".

Then I saw that Cleveland just set the record for most consecutive closeout wins. They just won their 13th straight game with the chance to close out the other team.

Cavs Going for Record 13th Straight Closeout Win

And Lebron puts up just about the best elimination game numbers in history. These are the numbers I posted in another thread earlier this postseason.

And Lebron hasn't lost a Game 7 in almost a decade, since back in 2008 when he scored 45 in Game 7 against Boston's Big 3 but it wasn't enough.

So he is dominant when he has his throat on their necks, he is dominant when his team is facing going home, and he's dominant when it's Game 7 and everything is on the line for both teams.

But he doesn't have the killer instinct rep with some people because....?

I thought about the guys who do have killer instinct rep with them, and I realized it comes done to one thing.

Taking shots.

You take a lot of shots, especially forced shots, and you have a "killer instinct". If you search for quality shots and pass to the open guy more when you don't have one, then you don't have a "killer instinct".

Is that pretty much it, or is there something else I'm missing?

you're correct....this "killer instinct" myth is basically based on chucking /hero-iso ball instead of making the right play, whether it be to shoot or pass, like true hero ball

Lmao DIDN'T READ!

you read it alright and you know you have nothing otherwise against hardcore stats that go against the false narrative:umad:

No ring without ray ..

who led the comeback from a double digit deficit in that game and hit the 3 right before ray and then did this in game 7?

no ring without kyrie..

who had 11 of the cavs 18 4th qtr including 6 straight momentum changing points which got them the lead and to never trail again in the game and biggest defensive/game saving play maybe in finals history?:sas1:

the ether
Take the shots yourself instead of passing it off to your all-star team-mates

You remember when he dropped 25 straight to close out a game that ONE time, thats a killer instinct.

"Lebron's only dropped the 25 straight to close a huge game once. I'm going to ignore that's one more time than anyone else in NBA history has done it." :troll:

Lebron averages 33 points/game in elimination games, more than anyone else in NBA history.

Last year in Game 7 he outscored everyone on both teams combined over the final six minutes of the game.

I could name another dozen times when he did something like that in big games, easily.

He does that shyt all the time. He just doesn't do it when it's stupid.

LeBron has a killer instinct . .

He just doesn't have killer skills in the 4th like kyrie

Jordan kobe both were the man with the ball in their hands at the end of games . .

Kyrie is that man at Cleveland..:yeshrug:

But you're right .. CLEVELAND does have the best close out record .

But LeBron still bytches up in the last couple mins of 4th ..:mjlol:

That's kyrie team under 5 mins b

That don't make no fukking sense. Lebron has scored more points in the last five minutes of the fourth this year than Kyrie has, and more points in the last minute too. Like double the assists Kyrie has too, because he's the one with the ball in his hands more often than not. More game-winners than Kyrie this year too.

Game winners.

Except Lebron already has more playoff game-winners than Kobe, and will pass him on regular-season game-winners too. So it ain't that.

Lmao DIDN'T READ!

No ring without ray .. no ring without kyrie..

Went there . Leaving it there .

You do realize that Lebron has a ring without Ray OR Kyrie on his team, right?

And Jordan had Hodges and Kerr hit huge game-winners in the Finals for him. Kobe had Horry and Fisher and Pau and Artest hit huge shots. Everyone got shooters.

Insecure Lebron stans know he gon lose thats why they making all these threads to flex their "numbers" and prop up his legacy.

You done posted on my thread 11 times before I even LOOKED at the first response, and I'm the one who's insecure? :picard:

You have to bite your jersey when resting or at the line in the clutch, you must always keep an intense face, after every big shot you hit you have to fist pump and stare down, when the media interviews you have to let them know how much of a badass you are, also very important never pass up a game winning shot even if you are doubled, even if you are struggling, even if you have little room to operate. It doesn't matter how many GW's you miss, the casuals will only watch highlights of your makes. It doesn't matter if you hurt your team bricking all 4Q or even game as long as you hit a tying shot or game winning shot.

This is how you get the reputation of a killer. Having the best elimination games of All-Time, having the most playoff GW's of All-Time, leading the league in 4Q scoring on ocassion, none of this matters.

To have killer instinct, you have to be selfish and have tunnel vision at the end of games, take a lot of bad shots, don't pass out of double teams but instead decide to shoot fadeaway jump shots, NEVER pass to a teammate no matter how open they are, and make about three out of every twenty game winning shots you take.

Then, and only then, will you be considered to have killer instinct.

Kobe was one dimensional as fukk in the clutch but heroball is a much more celebrated storyline. People love that idea of seeing someone else go all in recklessly. That's why people love games like poker, who wants to be a millionaire, etc.

LeBron is a willing passer which meant either LeBron or a teammate is getting a good look.
