U can't quantify it with just stats imo, killer instinct relies a lot on the eye test. Killer instinct is nothing more than supreme mental toughness, this applies across many things in life not just basketball.

U can see it in the eyes and the body language.....and I know what LeBron James looks like when he stops believing in himself. You can tell when LeBron is ready to quit, you can tell when you've taken his spirit to compete.

Yes LeBron has had his moments where he stepped up, but you're lying to yourself if you as a LeBron fan don't worry about his mental toughness at times. Especially at the end of big games.

You have to bite your jersey when resting or at the line in the clutch, you must always keep an intense face, after every big shot you hit you have to fist pump and stare down, when the media interviews you have to let them know how much of a badass you are, also very important never pass up a game winning shot even if you are doubled, even if you are struggling, even if you have little room to operate. It doesn't matter how many GW's you miss, the casuals will only watch highlights of your makes. It doesn't matter if you hurt your team bricking all 4Q or even game as long as you hit a tying shot or game winning shot.

This is how you get the reputation of a killer. Having the best elimination games of All-Time, having the most playoff GW's of All-Time, leading the league in 4Q scoring on ocassion, none of this matters.

:troll:

Don't forget you gotta watch sybarian tigers to prep for guarding ray Allen and watch brown bears to prep for guarding Paul pierce now that's some killer instinct shyt right there

It's hard to rid yourself from your initial reputation. He's getting flack from earlier flops in his career. He's been as clutch as anyone else sense he won his first chip.

I've had moments where I've doubted Kobe's mental toughness (Shooting them out the game against Detroit, losing 3-1 lead, etc) but he's proven his worth time and time again. Same with Lebron.

Pretty much all the greats have had adversity and had moments where their mental concentration fell.,

Ehh a lot of that is just people filling in the blanks. A team like the Warriors can be bombing 3s from all over the gym and then once they miss five in a row, people say they're settling for jumpers and aren't attacking. All that actually changed was the results but people want to look more into it. With LeBron, people try to look for signs that he quit in every close game.

Bron does have his moments out there where you question if he is interested in the moment but we cant sit here and act like he's not clutch or hasn't come through in crunch time multiple times over the years.
