metabolism slows down as you age
furthermore, you have less time as a result of likely having jobs with more responsibilities and obligations (i.e., a family) so if you havent already built healthy eating habits and/or exercise habits then it becomes that much harder to build them as you age. that + the slower metabolism is a recipe for disaster. i personally wont date a girl who isnt a gym rat unless shes thin and has a healthy diet
Metabolism slowing down depends on thyroid activity

If a person was naturally skinny at a young age, they’ll end up gaining weight. Thyroid becomes more active. These types are called ectomorphs.

If the person was naturally built, they’ll have to cut down to convert body fat into muscle. Thyroid becomes less active.

At the end of the day, we all need to prioritize our health. Health is wealth.

A recent study released last year challenges that premise, though. For years, the assumption has been that your metabolism is slowing as you age.

But a study that included 6,500 people from 29 countries shows that metabolism for both men and women really doesn’t significantly drop off until you reach the age of 60. The age range of participants in the study ranged from as young as eight days to as old as 95 years.
So yeah it’s probably just being lazy and some other stuff.

Believe it has to do with metabolism and the fact that your body stores fat more the older you get.

"Hard" isn't just the physical nature of losing weight. It is also the mental side.

As responsibilities increase and relaxation time goes down, its harder mentally for someone to sacrifice that rare chance for relaxation and to go work out.

Additionally, eating habits can really be poor for people who spend a lot of time in sedentary desk jobs. There is always boredom and temptation foods all over the place

Me personally at 40 with 2 very young kids I'm still in great shape, but I work out during my lunch break and have been calorie counting for 10+ years. Most people don't have the mental fortitude to do that. Its not as simple as calling them lazy. Most people don't believe in themselves to do it successfully and therefore never trigger true motivation.

people in general start falling off and or priorities change. the older we get the most selfless we become. we also tend to not give a fukk about what people think about us.

you start seeing in the 30s when people start caring less about their overall appearance.

Figured most people are lazy, and its easier to cope with the excuse of aging slowing down our metabolism.

It's a mentality thing I think. People get less active and more sedentary in their 30's. They also still eat the same amount of food if not MORE since most 30+ year olds on average have more money than someone in their 20's.

I'm on my feet moving around walking all day at my job(electrician), and I don't eat as much as I used to so it isn't really hard for me to maintain my weight and it would take a little bit of effort to get myself back into a routine and then in shape whereas for someone who is on they ass at work all the time and not doing any physical activities at home shyt is gonna be harder for them to get back to it.
