It's a mentality thing I think. People get less active and more sedentary in their 30's. They also still eat the same amount of food if not MORE since most 30+ year olds on average have more money than someone in their 20's.

I'm on my feet moving around walking all day at my job(electrician), and I don't eat as much as I used to so it isn't really hard for me to maintain my weight and it would take a little bit of effort to get myself back into a routine and then in shape whereas for someone who is on they ass at work all the time and not doing any physical activities at home shyt is gonna be harder for them to get back to it.

skilled trades are like that sparky...the more time in service and promotions the less physical you become. intermittent fasting was a great choice I made years ago.

alcohol is the only threat as far as my discipline goes. the older I get the more I appreciate that drank :wow:

we aint ever getting that bloated face or gut tho

While he is at baseball practice, you can get in 20 mins of jump rope..

It’s all about how important you think your vitality is..

That would be kinda weird since im the coach. :mjlol:

And going from having multiple days at the actual gym to sneaking in 20 minutes of jump rope IS NOT going to keep your body the same. Thats foolish.

It means they’re 30 and for the first time in life they have to TRY to lose weight :mjlol:

Don’t believe what they tell you. It’s not hard to lose weight after 30 unless life gets in the way but I’d imagine it’s hard to lose weight after 60 :manny:

Because they are fùcking lazy

This is the only acceptable answer so far

People will make excuse after excuse but not conceptualize all that juelzing you’re doing, you’re wasting time you could be putting in work.

If you have time to stop at McDonald’s every day before work, get to work in general, you have time to take care of yourself.

Anything else (unless you’re terminally ill) is unacceptable

Isn’t it always still calories in/calories out ?

What am I missing
Metabolism slows down with age.

I'm going through this now. In my 20s I could hit the gym and cut back on most of the bad foods I like and I'd lose 10 - 15 lbs. in about 6 weeks. Now in my mid 40s I *might* lose 5 lbs. doing that. So to lose that same amount I have to lowkey starve myself - almost zero processed sugars and 1300 -1500 daily calories max, plus I have to lift 4 times a week and do cardio at least 3 days per week (those days can overlap). I used to only have to lift 3 days a week I never used to have to do any cardio.

Nobody has any excuses not to be in shape.

You’ve had numerous documented set backs and always came back like a champion.

Yeah that’s why I don’t really be feeling excuses. I got a kid, wife and other family members to take care of etc not even bringing up the complications from sickle cell and necrosis in my joints. If I can be in shape I ain’t trying to hear no lazy excuses.

I think people think it’s a lot harder than it really is so they don’t start at all or they start at 100mph get burnt out and stop completely imo.

In reality all you have to do is be consistent, I been stopped going hard in the gym, I don’t lift till failure and i don’t go heavy. I only do 30-40 min of lifting tops. My cardio is Muay Thai l/boxing stuff on the heavy bag or mitts and that’s it. I’m in my 40s abs still there don’t really look much different than I did in my 20s/30s. :yeshrug:

I’ve always had to pretty much starve myself or keep a strict diet and work out a lot, to lose weight. I can’t imagine it getting worse as I get older

I guess but that’s what I been doing since the pandemic and haven’t missed a beat actually got my abs back since I cut out beef , ice cream and pizza..google what 20 mins of jump rope is equal to and tell me that doing that daily won’t keep you in shape

Metabolism misconceptions.

It's a mentality thing. When we're really young we're used to exercising naturally and being outside. You're probably not working as much or having to bother with adult responsibilities.

A lot of :flabbynsick: men and women give up, whereas younger folks more likely to push through. Young people believe in the impossible. That's in everything. Look at all the people who accept their fate at their jobs, their position in life.

Some people just don't prioritize working out. It's okay to admit. And it ain't supposed to be easy. :yeshrug:
People always leave this part out

Not even with just fitness, at a certain point/age most people just quit on dreams, optimism and maintenance
