What exactly do ppl mean when they say “it’s harder to lose weight after 30”

Nah. I let myself go over COVID and a bunch of shyt, (2020-2022) but once I ate right and did basic ass exercise, (legit just fukking jogged) I dropped 20. From there, I went back to the gym and started doing the bare minimum lifts. I hate the fukking gym, so I just go in and get the fukk out as soon as I can. But, it's basically an hour or so of my time.

I look better at 31 than I did at 29. And more or less the same as I did when I was in my early 20s when I actually cared (and even that is kind of bullshyt because I eat better now than I did back then)

Drink water. Diet juice. Diet soda (limit soda in moderation).

Walk. Bike. Work out.

I have found that, as I have matured (40s), in addition to going to the gym and playing ball, I work out smarter, not harder.

I do the following:

- take the stairs more times than not,
- yardwork (burns hella calories),
- I go into work 1 day a week; when leaving work, I casually walk a mile to the subway stop,
- do leisure activities with a weighted vest (like 15 to 20 lbs). For example, the same yardwork, etc.
- when I catch the train, I get on the car that is the furthest from the station's exit. For example, for those that know in DC, Stadium- Armory station exit is at the end of the car. I get on the train at the front of the train forcing me to walk all the way to the end to exit. Hope that makes sense.
That’s actually a good description of the subway thing made me feel like I was back there

Because motherfukkers are lazy and lack consistency. Im 41, it’s 415 and I’m headed to the gym. Most of the people at the gym with me are at least 10 years younger than me on average. Some even younger at 19-25. People just don’t want to make the time for themselves. They say “it’s too early”…then they say “I’ll just go after work” and then see the 4-8pm shyt show, and it turns them off. I have a buddy currently that is considering gastric…I’m like “breh, just come to the gym”…

Because motherfukkers are lazy and lack consistency. Im 41, it’s 415 and I’m headed to the gym. Most of the people at the gym with me are at least 10 years younger than me on average. Some even younger at 19-25. People just don’t want to make the time for themselves. They say “it’s too early”…then they say “I’ll just go after work” and then see the 4-8pm shyt show, and it turns them off. I have a buddy currently that is considering gastric…I’m like “breh, just come to the gym”…

Rep for this post and thread. Im the same age breh and been active most of my life and started slacking hard this year not making the gym as much or hitting my push ups/dips/pull ups at home even tho i got everything i need and gained like 10lbs this summer. Im back on it today no excuses

I told him the same thing. “Little changes, and work your way up.”. But he’s afraid of being judged and I’m telling him gym folks are some of the nicest people you’ll meet. Hell most of them are there because at one point they were too skinny or overweight. But at some point he will have to lift. It’s probably more important to lift as you age than when you were younger. It really helps slow down the aging process.

Most people are nice and everyone is into their own workout, no one's paying attention to you unless you're a hot chick and even then who cares.
He doesn’t realize that. He still thinks it’s the locker room from 4th period gym, and he’s one of those stubborn people that will always talk themselves out of something.

Sad thing is…he has two children under 10. I’m like breh don’t you wanna be around to walk your daughter down the aisle?
