thats a bad look considering that aalyiah was a manufactured artist herself.

ciara's strongpoint was that she could dance & perform her @$$ off tho.

First two albums did well. Dropped like two albums after that which flopped... annnnd, now she has something new about to drop, but she's pretty much fallen off the radar.

Last time she had anything resembling a hit was in 2010... but even that didn't do what her earlier hits did.

yet another so-so r&b artist thats only as good as the people behind them that got to big for their britches.

she shouldve never stopped working with jazze pha.

plus some of her ex-friends in the industry have put her on blast for developing a hollywood ego. so i wouldnt be surprised if she was considered hard to work with as well.

I would say Promise was her biggest song ever. Polo Da Don ressurected her with that song and Mario with Crying Out For Me. Oh was a good song too. I never knew she wanted to be like Beyonce or Aaliyah. If wanting to be like Beyonce do you mean popularity and sales wise? Ashanti replaced Aaliyah, came out right after her death immediately. Always felt like Ciara was more of a Janet Jackson chick. In retrospect 2006-2007 was a great year for r&b with acts like Ciara, Ne-Yo, J. Holiday, Mario, The-Dream and etc.

nah. there are no similarities between ashanti & aalyiah. people only compared them because ashanti was the 1st pretty-singing chick to blow up big after aalyiah's death.

truth be told, ashanti wouldve blew past aalyiah when she debuted. that aalyiah album went 1x platinum and it only did that because she died. yet, ashanti's album still sold way more.

i'd say ciara was an aalyiah-type singer with the on-stage entertainment value of a janet/beyonce.

No hate, just my opinion. I can't speak for everyone else. To each it's own. I didn't really follow ciara's career but I did hear awhile back people didn't like what she did with justin, but like I said i'm going by my musically interest.
