He did. He dropped a couple of projects. Both were lackluster. He can still rhyme (he bodied that joint on Pap's project) but I don't think his heart is in it

He started a podcast with Havoc on Vlad's network but they haven't dropped an episode in a couple of months.

I said it before but early 2000s, Saigon and 50 were my favorite rappers. Saigon was like a 50 Cent/Nas hybrid, he had catchy hooks and could rhyme and had content and believability. I really thought he had next.

He showed the world what a bozo he is on Love & Hip-Hop and ended his own career.

 you talk about this the way Irv Gotti would always talk about how he thought Make A Move by DMX was gonna blow up

Are you familiar with the Saigon G-Unit story?
Saigon was almost part of G-Unit, Saigon was hanging with the entire G-Unit gang before 50 blew, before GRODT.
Then when 50 blew he kept everyone in the Unit but Saigon.
And in interviews 50 always acted like he didn't know who Sai was.

I wonder why he kept everyone in his crew except for him.
Also how iller would G-Unit have been if fif didn't do that and Sai WAS a member of the Unit??

Yep. I forgot the exact reason why they fell out but Saigon said it on Queenzflip podcast. I have to go back and watch. But yeah it's crazy how drastically one decision can change history.

Should’ve stayed with Turtle.

Whoever told him otherwise is an idiot and here we are. Turtle — despite being an amateur — would’ve put all of his effort into him since that was his only client. Plus…..

— turtle is close to Vince. Just having Saigon next to Vince gets him free press and people wondering who he is
- turtle knows Ari and Ari is the biggest agent in the game and wants to please Vince. Ari signed Mary J Blige and could get Saigon feature on songs + in the same room with good producers
- Ari could get Saigon some minor TV and movie roles
- turtle knows Sloan. Go to her pops and say Saigon is the next big thing and start a damn bidding war with Ari since they hate each other. News of this would be in all the trade publications and Saigon gets his name out there
- Eric has a soft spot for everyone and would in the very least give turtle advice about how to manage a client. And knowing turtle won’t be freeloading anymore would motivate him to help

Saigon is the king of starting projects and never finishing them

Saigon has been cursed since he pushed his album back in 2006 because Jay and Nas were dropping at the time.

How many artist really make good music outside of their prime though?

That period where he was making songs like stocking cap, favorite things, etc is over.

One thing about Saigon is that he doesn’t have the greatest rap voice imo, so everything has to be right for him to pull off a good project.

That's true especially when he took a good 6 years off completely.
