It's so weird because I feel like there's this segment of men and Black men specifically, that are invisible to many ppl. Like there's a huge middle ground btwn your 20k a year retail worker and someone who makes 6 figures(which is not common).

I see these BM everyday working for waste management or the county or getting their CDLs, etc. Maybe it's my area but the women I know who aren't attached are just looking for men with their stuff together. There's never a discussion of a specific dollar amount so these discussions to me always seem so...tunnel focused.

nikkas really need to understand that a large portion of black women look at "regular" 9-5 men as "lame". This mindset carries onto alot of them well into their mid to late 30s. By time they realize their mindset (alot don't even do this), it's too late for most of them.

Bullincelshyt.:camby: Y'all nikkas shouting this bs don't even talk to women. :mjlol:

I was just focusing on HBCUs an example that to show that they’re successful and eligible black men in their vicinity. There’s also brehs with degrees who went to PWIs.
Then there’s also black men who have a trade.
Like other posters have said, there’s not really a shortage of black men. It’s a shortage of the type of black men they want, because those men don’t exist.
Breh...

10K students. 60/40 ratio. 6K women, 4K men. You can assume every single man marries, that's 2000 unmarried women. Whether HBCU or PWI the ratio is still female-heavy.

Yes I agree there's no true shortage of black men because the bullet point sheet of James St. Patrick at Law in Dez Bryant's body and the heart of Love Jones is too much but you need to understand that the numbers you presented work against you when using college education as a frame of reference.

Yep in a nutshell, it's tunnel focused.

It's either you make 100k or bust.....

But salary doesnt always tell the entire pic, because someone could be making 60k, but disposable cash on deck or someone could make100k, but their expenses are stretched in debt.

I'm just shaking my head. How was posting a 20 - 40 percent disparity between women and men supposed to help his point?? Coli should've stayed closed...

Interesting question. I didn't go to a HBCU but the ones I know are doing well. I think the problem is people are viewing success by going to work with a suit and tie. People actually perceive an IT working making $100k a year to be more successful than a blue collar worker making the same thing with less debt.
