Name the Hall of Famers he had on those defenses in the 80s
This is irrelevant

The ‘85 Bears defense had one HOFer. So did the 2000 Ravens defense.

And Karl Mecklenberg should probably be in the HOF.

Richard Dent, Dan Hampton and Mike Singletary are in the HOF for the Bears

Elway didn't have any great offensive players around him

John Elway on the Broncos in the 80s was like LeBron James 1st Cleveland Cavaliers run

Very similar

Great players surrounded by garbage

My fault, forgot Dent and Hampton.

My point is the Broncos had top defenses during those years. It wasn’t a carry job.

Elway had middling numbers during those years and it only became elite when Shanahan joined the team.

That top Bronco defense got their dikks kicked in 55-10 against the 49ers

How was that Elway's fault?

What about letting Timmy Smith on the Redskins run for 200 yards in that SB??

What about Doug Williams bombing the shyt outta that Bronco secondary?

:russ:

Those "top defenses" always got ran over when it mattered they weren't that good thats what I'm trying to tell you

TYRONE GA!
He doesn’t have Tee Higgins and Justyn Ross to make circus catches against mid College DBs anymore that’s what happened.

If you go back and watch that Bama/Clemson game in 2019, Trevor really didn’t do anything special, it was Clemson taking advantage of a weak side of Bama’s secondary and receivers making crazy plays, unlike Deshaun Watson who was basically Superman in the 2 title games he played in.

I always felt like the hype was a bit too much, he was getting that Elway/Luck “generational” label and I have yet to see it.

agreed.

good in college but not exceptional especially with the talent he had.

but when you got that look the part workin for ya :yeshrug:

The offense was ranked top five that year and only scored 10 points.
Yeah you right

But they had no special players at the skill positions

Them 3 amigo nikkas were not good and he had no RB

Did Bobby Humphrey play in that SB?

Edit: He did and had a big fumble then the Niners ripped off 34 unanswered points :beli:

This is bs. They were AFC good. Just because the end result versus the NFC i the Super Bowl was what they were, doesn’t mean they weren’t good for their respective conference.

They had great defenses in Denver.

Exactly. If they win a SB or if the narrative wasnt so falsely slanted in favor of the Elway carried a team a bums, myth..then maybe guys like Mecklunburg and Dennis Smith would get some HOF love.
