Personally, there's a good chance I will miss a text I'm not expectin'. I don't keep my phone on my person. At home, it's on the bookshelf. At work, it's at the end of my desk. That little 1-beep notification is easily missed, especially if I go to the bathroom or somethin'. I check my phone on occasion for the time, to check if I missed somethin', etc.

Some folks stay glued to their phone, so I get it. But not everyone is like that.

I'm not superman and I'll tell you what worked for me every time. Holla, set up call & meet up, call and confirm meet up, meet up. This has worked since the phone was invented. Similar has worked prior to.

Never once have I relied on text as a primary mode of communication. In fact, if I call a chick for the 1st time and she text me back with anything other then, "I'm busy, I'll hit you back in a few", next.

It takes no time or effort. It can be done in the midst of doin' almost anything else. I put no stock in it what so ever.
