When you're single it's really not hard and Dallas isn't an expensive place to live. I'm at 45k with no kids, no debt, no loans & a 750 credit score so i think i'm doing pretty damn good.

I live outside of Toronto now and I used to live in West Virgina. I am making 30k more now and things are alright. But down there, when I was making 30k less than what I'm making now I was living like a king.

My girl was going to grad school. I lived in a gated community but things were pretty rough when I dared leave.

Having a car is not mandatory.

Housing and transportation will be the primary expenses most people have.

There are ways to cut both, roommate or bus, or buy a cheaper car .

Having a luxury car and glass window condo with maintenance fees in the hundreds every month is not mandatory to the enjoyment of life.

Some areas don't even have public transit and some buses run slow. That's why I said that. You live in a big city so it's not an issue. here it is.

For example one of the counties I live close to does not have buses. In my area the buses only come once an hr and they stop running at 11. The demand for them to change hrs and add buses is not considered enough but you basically can't work certain hrs with that. Most people have cars. I live in Va and most areas around here you are at a significant disadvantage by not having a car.

It's nothing like New York for example.

Same here. Hit a bad point in my life making $30k with no benefits (and tons of stress) then jumped to where I'm at now making $65k with benefits and no kids. With me being married, things are good. Together, we at $120k. I have no school debt note credit card balances. I have a car loan.

Things looking up, my salary (and workload) will increase by $20k I hope and "we will move to the deluxe apt in the sky." But really, we're looking at a 3 bedroom house.

To answer the question, I'm good with 90k to 100k esp in DC.

That's what im trying to do. Was making 22k last summer..up to 40k now. Trying to get to 50 before next summer

Maybe not up north, but here in Houston you can get around to an extent...but shyt it takes 3 hours to get from one side of the city to the other on public transit. Plus its hot as fukk. Damn near mandatory to have at least a hoop here
