but then you didn't have to be up on the internet all damn day to find it...I mean remember going to clubs in Paris and they were playing Shook Ones, then you had One More Chance, Murder Was the Case...Da Joint...so you didn't have to be buried in the net to find those dope tracks...

The internet wasn't nearly what it is today either, so there wasn't this incredible amount of accessibility that music has now.

I'd take the new generation of rappers now over the abomination of rappers in the mainstream from 05-07. Those TRULY were dark ages for Hip Hop, the minstrel c00ning sensation that came from the south and swept up damn near everything in its path was downright depressing. I remember hearing cars blasting Crank Dat like it was the greatest thing since sliced bread:snoop: truly truly horrible times...

You mean from 05-09. Yeah, that era was just wack as hell. Nothing but ignorant ass slow rapping ass minstrels called rappers talking about "swag" and getting money when they make less than underground artists in the 90s. That was the worst era ever.

There are some complaints about this era, too, like Chief Keef's album that set a new low of lyricism.

Yea I kind of give 08-09 a pass though as you had Drake, J.Cole, Wale, Blu, Fashawn, etc on the come up, young spitters who actually had TALENT....

And thank God Chief Keef flopped, if his album had of dropped in 05 it probably would have done 100k:why:

More like 200k back in 05. Seriously, it is crazy how in a decade, we went from listening to Blueprint 2, God's Son, and A Gangsta and a Gentleman to full blown c00nery. Straight ignorance, but these same people couldn't support Big K.R.I.T.'s debut album cause he is "too nerdy." :what:

Glad that Kendrick and J Cole blew up.

Old nikkas who try to push their taste on the younger generation... :heh:

Well, this era got the likes of K-Dot, Cole, Drake, and even Wale. They surpass most new artists that came from the 05-09 era. Glad that they raising the bar.

The Crunk Era was worse, and despite peoples rose tinted glasses 2001-2002 was worse. The highs were really high but the lows were fukking dismal and there were way more lows than highs.

wow terrible post

I can literally pick a random album from that time that would be considered album of the year if released in 2012

lemme show you:

Mist Don't Play
Word of Mouf
The Realness
Blackt Trash
Watermelon, Chicken & Gritz

...and those weren't even the best albums in that period :beli:

I don't like the lack of creativity or being original anymore. Now it's all about following a trend. So im extra happy when i hear something outside the box like Kendrick's album.
