To be fair though, this is really the first gen in a long time where the strongest machine won out since the SNES. It's not the norm.

I've been out of the loop as far as gaming, so forgive me... I just watched the Microsoft E3 clip of project scorpio....

I definitely think that this is a game changer. I believe that a acceptable price point will be highly debated.

Microsoft isn't going to make this a cheap device like the 360 was. If it's going to have all the bells and whistles, then this console will be no less than $500. I believe that at that price point, hard-core gamers and casuals will flock to it. If the console ends up being $700, then I'd agree that it would be a epic failure. I can see Microsoft charging 600, or even 650 for this console.

I'm not an electronics expert, so I couldn't tell you how much the console would or should cost, even if I knew what hardware would be implemented. For me $600 is the limit and it must have sufficient storage space(Tb) and quality 4K graphical output.

Blew what though? They were never gonna outsell the PS4 regardless (granted it wouldn't be the bloodbath it is today). Look at the PS3 disaster, it still came back and overtook the 360.

If they are cool with being #2, it's all good and I think they can firmly cement their position as 2 because Nintendo on some other shyt.

The biggest advantage of the 1S over the OG Larry is the upscaler to 4K, but if you don't have a 4k TV (I know you do, but vast majority don't), there really isn't a point to getting a 1S. Get a 4K TV first then Scorpio next year. Other than that, it's still an Xbox One meaning the same cpu and gpu.

edit: apparently the gpu got a 7% overclock. nothing dramatic.

For you, I think it's a no brainer since you got a 4K set. Others who don't, it's a waste.

Casuals didn't flock to the current Xbox One price at 500 fam. Hardcore did. One they copped, the casuals grabbed PS4s.

Well, it will all play itself out. Personally, I doubt that anyone is gonna produce a console that will cost less than 500. If I had to put money on it, it would probably be Nintendo, but they are stepping their game up too.

I predict all three consoles will be the same price, then the price wars will commence.

They outsold Xbox 360 after what 7 to 8 years. All multiplats sold better on the 360.
