Would you prefer these to being a sovereign nation with land, economic, political and military power?
A sovereign nation in the nuclear age is asking to get pimped without nuclear weapons. The USA would find there way back into our affairs.

Nah, I think black people should be given a modest amount of reparations over a looonnnggg period of time. I'm talking hundreds of years due to what slavery was to us.

It's hard to explain, but, I really believe too many turncoats would sell us out in the event of a sudden change via reparations or our own nation was given to us like that.

Maybe my imagination isnt big enough to figure out how a sovereign national would work.

:ld:Its the bolded breh.

I believe that Aframs will need to attain a recognized nationality ala the Native Indian tribes or full statehood to be in the best position to get reparations. The recipients and the criteria must be fully spelt out by then, because as it stands now Obama will also receive reparations. As X saw, the issue of reparations and social justice directed towards Aframs is a human issue to be resolved at the UN on an international level not necessarily at state level.

Slavery and the aftermath is an international issue; whenever reparations for any of the displaced Africans (whether in the US or Americas) is resolved others will have to follow since the crime is the same.

Be positive breh, its the only way you'll find solutions. My wish for y'all is complete and total freedom, and that comes by being sovereign.

Off topic, I love this thread. AAs, Africans, Carribeans, Black Latinos, and Black Europeans coming together to get shyt down :wow:

I love all my black sisters and brothers.

And Pan-Africanism is the answer.

We need economic freedom across the board and an EU type situation like @Indiglow Meta (R$G) said and nuclear weapons like @Luken said. If we are serious about breaking away from underclass status we must fight

The Cosmos
From a Native Black American:

1) Development: As in educational and technological development. We need more people who are technologically savvy and to promote education.

2) Economic Freedom: Once the majority of us have the necessary skills we can concentrate on group economics.

3) Land: We now have the money to secure real estate (commercial and residential as well land). Today, black neighborhoods are mostly not black owned.

4) Reparations: Since we have an economic powerbase, our votes can no longer be taken for granted. We don't have to ask anymore, we now demand reparations for our ancestors who worked their whole lives without compensation.

5) Pan Africanism: Trade with the diaspora and help them achieve economic freedom.

The hope is Africa to get it together and that's a Herculean task we know about the natural resources but another asset or if not taken care of potential liability the demographic dividend. Africa has currently 1.2 billion people with an average age of under 20.

it's a continent with the fastest growing population and in 50 years 1 out of 3 inidividuals on the planet will be Sub Saharan Africa.

The islands or the Black population in North America don't have that type of projection. First the U.S is already a developed nation so the opportunity for economic growth is not there. GDP growth in developed markets usually are less than 4 percent. You have countries like ethiopia and Cote d ioire growing at 8-9 percent without viable infrastructure that's why you see the world powers and semi powers in Africa not only China, US who is playing catch up, or Europe but you have countries like Turkey in places like Senegal and Somalia. The next economic playground and big growth is on the continent.

Island nation's don't have the demographics or the industries.

Again it's possible but will be extremely difficult for obvious reasons of extremely bad leadership corruption etc

My thing about the Native Americans is it would never work.

  1. America did that in a different time and it's so little of them
  2. I couldn't give you 25 leaders I'd trust to run it--and from what I know, those reservations are run horrriibbbllly.
With a criteria I'd make; Obama wouldn't; foreign born father (regardless of where) and a white mother. And he's already gotten a lot of benefits put to the side for black kids as he was growing up. Obama's mom and grandparents were not poor.

But, I agree with Malcolm X; reparations should never been left up to a vote or a partisan politics.

But, the USA doesn't respect shyt internationally, unless we owe them money.

But, I plan on doing whatever little things I can. I'll never live to see it. But, that's not the point.

But, I also think places like Haiti and the Caribbeans deserves reparations from France and England. My issue is; in this country, they owe us. But, I'll never make it seem other folk in the diaspora didn't suffer.

:scusttchalla:If we really wanted to go there, some African nations owe us for selling the "product."
