I find all shades attractive, but I noticed that most of the guys I am actually attracted to fall into the medium skin tone range like myself. Not dark, but not light

Interesting thread ...

As a dark skinned man, I can say that growing up with a pro black father I was really seen as weird as a kid actually liking dark skinned girls over light skinned ones, not to say I didn't like any lighter skinned girls but I drifted more towards darker skin as part of my father's teachings. Even to THIS day I argue with a few of my friends who still have a "lights only" policy (fukking c00ns:scust:) over it.

I've actually had co-workers look at me like :wtf: when two customers who came in, one dark skinned and the other lighter were feeling me, but I went for the dark skinned one...

It's absolutely crazy how the conditioning of slavery so deeply penetrated and divided our race man:mjcry:

It's fine. I have absolutely nothing against light skin men. I've never subscribed to the attitude of only dating a certain type of black men. If you're attractive then you're attractive. My original comment was more about very attractive men in general. I consider myself average. So I'm more attracted to average if that makes sense. But I know that I do a disservice to myself when I do the whole " he wouldn't like me" convo in my head when I see an attractive man. It's something that I have to work on.[/QUOTE]

I hear you brehette. Sometimes I get intimidated when I find someone extremely attractive (like model looks) as I believe I'm slightly above average. Give it a shot. Step to him... tell a joke, tell him he is attractive. If he compliments you or keeps it going, go in :obama:

If he just says "thank you sweetheart" say your welcome and moonwalk while your dignity still in tact :sadcam: :mjlol:

I find this weird to be honest. :francis:

You wanna expound?

Conditioning.

And yes, I agree with those who mention colorism.

I'm attracted to attractive men full stop - no colour preference, just height preference 6ft and above please.

But my long term relationships have been with dark skin men, they made their intentions clear and followed
through from day one of meeting them.
However with light skin guys it's like they want me to know they have many options... so I just don't make them a priority.

I can't fault anybody for liking what they like (as long as you don't hate your own race or skin tone) but this thread makes me remember a convo I had years ago back in HS. My friend was a midnight dark nikka with waves and I was the polar opposite light skin cat with long braids.

Dude said.... that most chicks don't think light skin nikkas are sexy, but that we're just good to look at and aspire to be with. Oh we might get the "you'll make cute babies" card thrown at us, but that's about it. Sexiness is more important than looking good, because at the end of the day when we judge looks were doing it in a sexual way so if you can incite that feeling 1st, you pretty much in the door. Dark black men just have that naturally powerful sexiness that light skin nikkas lack. He pretty much said, chicks would rather fukk nikkas like him, but be in relationships with nikkas like me.

I thought it was bullshyt at first, but later on I saw that his perspective wasn't that crazy after all. I've dealt with a lot of chicks that feel that way.

I do feel that a lot of chicks lie they asses off though when it comes to rating lite brights. It's like it's the cool thing to say a light skin breh is soft or not sexy, meanwhile you thinking about showing that nikka off to your family and dreaming having about cute babies with the pretty eyes.

I'm light skinned. I still got women that look at me like I'm some type of monster, but darker skinned women like me cause I'm down to earth.

Same my parents taught me reasons to be appreciative of my melanin and roots. I love it, and I want a man who has strong genes and strong roots so I can pass it to my children.

I've already admitted to having a bias against light skin men, I've always just had a natural attraction to dark skin men. I don't think anything bad about LS guys, and I find some attractive.
