I actually know most black men doing trade jobs. Good money too. But walking up to a chick in your early 20s saying you work in cooling and heating or you’re a plumber isn’t the coolest thing in the worst tbh :manny:

Hate to say it but some nikkas are book dumb too, I know here in Chicago you have to sit for an exam to get your plumbers license

Some of those exams and the prep courses are really expensive too. If you are strapped for cash that is hard money to come up with.

Those are the same dumb bytches that get with drug dealers and then end up with a bunch of kids that they have to raise on their own after that nikka is dead or in jail.

Seriously and this is no joke; brehs need to start dating a better class of women, because if any chick can turn her nose up at a man making an honest living then that is a dumb classless hoe. People date people; not their jobs.

Im talking about Carpentry, Masonry, Plumbing and becoming Electricians ?

These are Jobs that can lead to a middle class existence or even can make you rich in some circumstances.

Even though there are some You see too few black men in these jobs. What is the main obstacle(s) that keeps black men out of the trades ??
Lack of education on the pay scale, school cost and locations of said schools

Go into the trap and see how many electrician and plumbing schools you see advertised around. The most we get is those bullshyt certificate school you see on the commercials during Maury

Education in all aspects, is the only way out of our current situation in this country

Are you completely oblivious to union apprenticeships?:gucci:

Those TV trade schools are full of shyt. Why would you pay to learn a trade at a damn school when you could be make $18.00+ with benefits in a union while learning a trade.:gucci:

It’s shyt like this that confirms to me that most brehs have no clue how trade unions work, im here to educate tho

That's not my point...a person just entering 6 figures is not rich. They're doing well and depending on their lifestyle and fiscal responsibility, should be comfortable, but that's not rich.

not every one is gonna be able to get rich

but anybody can get themselves comfortable

i am living proof of that shyt:blessed:

show up early leave late and bust your mutherfuking ass in between

mutherfukers cry about generational poverty

and then don't do shyt with they lives :scust:

and then have children:martin:

i came from shyt breh:mjcry:

poverty ,broken home ,parental drug abuse ,physical abuse

but i didn't cry like a bytch and kept fuking going no matter what kind of bullshyt i was faced with

now my daughter can go to any college she wants. as long as she has the grades for it.

i broke the fuking cycle and did that doing blue collar jobs

I agree, but even right out of high school I had that mindset. My pops always told me to learn a trade just to learn, always thought that was some dropout jobcorp shyt :hhh:
Now nearing my late 20s I see what he meant. If you can use your hands you can always make money somehow

you want the real answer, or some feel good bullshyt?

most people nowadays, black or not, cannot handle blue collar work.

my company has a very high turnover rate.

guys come in with big talk about how much they want to learn and how hard they work, but nope the fukk out within a week

most of you talking shyt in this thread wouldn’t last either

stick to those office jobs, where you can hide in the bathroom for hours at a time and sit down at a desk all day pretending to work

trades are for men who can overcome challenges, not pussies who only know how to finesse their way through life or game the system
But i do want to work hard and overcome challenges :mjcry:
What trade you do?

nikka did you read ANYTHING I actually wrote :gucci:

I didn’t say what I myself know. I said the education about these jobs, along with knowledge of how good the pay is, and access to these places in our worst communities....... leads to kids not being educated about these jobs enough to want to be in them.

Instead they push us these fake schools, during times when unemployed people and children are home to watch. Making it seem like that’s your best bet, instead of things like apprenticeship or trade school.

I didn’t say they don’t exist or are hard to get into. I said they aren’t pushed to kids and the black community as strong as ITT tech and come work at McDonald’s

You can always make a living and you can always fix your own shyt. When shyt breaks down in my crib I have to call my uncle or some of my friends in the trade to fix my shyt.

Btw, when women mature they really love men that can work with his hands, because home repairs/remodels are no joke on the bank account.
