DMC just had a reboot a bout a few years ago and re-released DMC4 with new content. The series is still among one of capcom's best selling franchises. Capcom has been bullshytin lately but DMC5 is inevitable.

Team ninja kinda shyted out NG3 and just bounced back from it by releasing ni-oh. I believe they could drop a new NG

These franchises aren't dead tho and their time for their grand return is near with the recent rumors going around.

Dark souls killed extreme action.

Casuals needed something that required less skill and coordination.

Didnt help that only 2 companies were capable of making these types of games and then one developed platinum and the other was a prick who sold out to Microsoft

Everything white folks tried to mimic was a shell of what the japanese were doing.

God of war
Dmc

But they found their groove with last of us, uncharted, dead space, horizon, witcher.

Still insane to me we haven't gotten a new onimuSha or Dino crisis from Capcom.

Then again, nothing Capcom does makes sense.

Wish someone would buy them and realize the potential of all that IP

Nothing insane about it though. Both series declined in terms of quality and sales. Dino Crisis 2 was a step backwards from 1 and 3 was awful. Onimusha didn't decline as sharply, but it did decline bit by bit. Games in general became more about multi-player and less about singleplayer although Sony is bringing the latter back. We have Nioh now and I don't even know how Dino Crisis would work in 2017 without a big AAA budget behind it, which Capcom is trying to move away from.

We don't have Parasite Eve or Tenchu either. :mjcry:

Well Platinum drops piff minus that kora game. But as for DMC the reboot kinda killed the franchise but all they need to do is drop OG Dante in a new game and the hype would be back.

Now NG is my favorite but damn vanilla NG3 was garbage, Razors Edge was good but still carried most of the major issues

Still we got some good action games this gen

Onimusha 3 was decent but 4 was a drastic change in combat and the lead character didn't have that "star" quality to keep it going(it was the Resident Evil 6 of the bunch)..
As far as DMC, that trash ass reboot could have been DMC5 but even though Capcom didn't make it, Capcom as a company/developer always does dumbshyt in the grand scheme of things( look how they launched SF5)..
I really think first person shooters killed this genre..
With competitive gaming/multiplayer on the raise, it was so much money to be made off those games..
