Not a genius

Average ass rapper. If anybody else spit his bars nobody would be praising them. Not to mention that he don't even write his shyt.

0 classic albums. I thought college dropout was a classic when i a was younger but really that shyt kinda overrated, just like the rest of his discography. Now I'm not saying his shyt is trash, but nikkas will have you believing he's dropped nonstop 5/5 albums when his best shyt is a 4/5.

influence. I hear that "he's so influential" shyt all the time, it's already been said in here. nikkas is not rapping like kanye, he is not that influential. nikkas out here like Wayne and gucci, nobody tryna be like kanye. You wanna say he influenced that autotune, naw that's Wayne. You wanna see he influenced the weirdo shyt, naw that's 3000. Point to some shyt that changed strictly because of him, i can't find it.

His name > his music and it's been that way for a while. :yeshrug:

:damn: Broke it down and everything.

Ye stans will skip this and pretend there are no valid reasons to dislike Kanye (or even like Kanye but say he's not a genius)

That teddy bear brainwashing and pretentious mediocrity goes so deep :wow:

Kanye is a genius to duncecaps. It's just marketing. Nothing else

Exactly. Late Registration was a loooooooong time ago and by then he was already getting tons of help from dudes like Jon Brion and tons of other cats who aren't household names (including those who wrote for him)

808s took him to another dimension because it was unexpected but that shyt woulda been flames if it was just a Cudi record with Mr Hudson sprinkling vocals here and there.

In his current Kardashian role is where you see how dude really is and I think he's quite happy there because he's a million years removed from hoping Hov would put him on or even having to be around a late 90s-early 2000s Dame (or even deal with having to ghost produce for various Hitmen and JD)

His biggest asset was/is hype because the music didn't age well and it's like these days he needs 74 people just to put out some bullshyt like TLOP. After Yeezus he shoulda got his act together but dude seemed so intent on sticking it to NIKE and delivering a Hypebeast's wet dream with those ugly clothes and kicks.

And you could tell dude just ran out of steam. Cruel Summer was meh and "All Day" was laughable ("like a runaway slave....we in the motherfukkin houuuuuuuuuse")

Watch The Throne was balanced and tolerable because after the Best of Both Worlds fiasco in sure Jay was very specific about putting out a joint album, so Ye gets a pass on that.

But I can honestly say I'm not looking forward to anything he plans on putting out unless it's prime Kim K nudes/vids

Well... He was timely & had some introspective lyrics during lil Jon & 50cent era. Kanye made jay comfortable going deep again/being lyrical & more artsy. Kanye gave longevity to jay Z.

But Kanye is not 7 instrument playing & multiple genre Price genius. Kanye is closer to Michael Jackson....but Mike revolutionized music videos & dancing.

but for a genius... he's getting A LOT of help.. and i'm a ye fan

blindfold him, put him in a record shop, and let him chop up and make a beat like havoc.... that's more genius than you and 20 of your friends putting together a track

ironically, havoc is the one who did the drums on new friends... but search rhythm roulette... you'll find lots of producers on here doing this... i've never once seen ye make a beat from scratch

He produced all of the college dropout, and 9 of 11 tracks on Be, albums that feature (sped up) samples everywhere. I'm pretty sure that if you put him in a record store that he'll be able to make some dope beats based off samples. Its not where he is in his career right now but I would put my money on it that he can do it

you know you're absolutely right.. i've heard too many interviews about him coming around shopping beat tapes and those same beats becoming blueprint, his album cuts, etc

and knowing him, he was talking that genius shyt back then too

U serious b

Graduation is a fukking masterpiece.. His discog shyts on outkast's and I love Outkast... The production alone is a landslide fam

Yes, I'm serious. Very serious. OutKast's best album is better than Kanye's best. They don't have an album as bad as Yeezus. Love Below>>>>>> 808's. The production on Kast's albums >>>>>>> production on Kanye's.

Graduation is a dope album, but it isn't a masterpiece.

We throw around the word genius too much here..

A genius does things like cures diseases, or invents things that revolutionize the world.

Kanye makes leather jogging pants and married a reality tv whore. And his discog isnt nearly as great as some people here say. Hes a narcissist and an embarassment to the community. He doesnt even write or produce half of his own shyt.

Save the term genius for ACTUAL fukking geniuses.
Got damn :whew:

y'all need to stop forcing Rocky's name on these Kanye lists. It reeks of desperation.

The DNA of Rocky's music sounds NOTHING like Kanye. The way Rocky approaches the mic sounds NOTHING like Kanye.

You can't say someone is a child of someone when they sound nothing alike. Yeah, Rocky loves fashion and Kanye loves fashion. We put a tiny check mark there but the rest of it is a giant reach.

You guys are being hella delusional ITT ...

I think you guys are going off of his current situation...

Kanye west is VERY influential and y'all acting like this nikka is a scrub or some shyt bruh...

name somebody that has produced as many hits as this nikka?
Kanye West production discography - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
:whoo:

YALL GOT THE NERVE TO SAY THIS nikka IS WACK?...

I DO music so I'm gonna actually explain to y'all non talent having ass nikkas what makes ye a genius... ol' arm chair quarterback ass nikkas:stopitslime:

COLLEGE DROPOUT- "chipmunk soul sample sound evolving what Pete Rock and dilla did and making it his own... Kanyes drums weren't as good as Pete but his ear for the samples was amazing.." Now during this time fashion wise...all y'all :flabbynsick: nikkas was wearing throwbacks, baggy jeans and timbs..fubu and Da.Da still.. But ye came out wearing the Ralph Lauren polos and jeans that didn't look like the bottom half of your body was being devoured by a denim monster.. nikkas at my school went from wearing tall tees to polos..

LATE REGISTRATION-"chipmunk soul samples but this time Kanye added strings and live instrumentation.. Pushing his sound into a more grandiose direction.. Also fashion wise he was still doing the polos and jeans that actually fit you..

GRADUATION-chipmunk soul samples+ alternative rock, European rock, and house samples.. Combined with the strings from late registration AND now synths to give this album a STADIUM sound... Of y'all can't see the genius and the progression y'all nikkas just don't know good music..Also this nikka destroyed the hyper masculine dusty baggy Jean and tomb wearing champion "50 cent".... He was y'all last hope...but sadly...Kanye ended this nikka...and he's never been the same since...he's an Instagram gangster now...r.i.p 50 cent :sadbron: (p.s in da club was my shyt and GRODT....whew*)

Also during this time fashion wise my nikkas was rocking the shutter shades which nikkas wanted until white people ran those into the ground and they became wack... The keyiffeh scarfs which everybody started wearing (looking at you carter 3 era Wayne , looking at you blueprint 3 era Jay) and red monkeys...

808s- couple samples but majority synths and 808s not a lot of traditional snares ...and of course... AUTOTUNE.. But when ye uses autotune he actually uses it as an instrument..this album Lowkey influenced how music sounds....RIGHT NOW...and it birthed DRAKE (he will tell you that..40 even admits it) pretty much every beat you hear right now with the dark production, minor synth chords ..808s, non traditional snares and claps... Say..."thank you Kanye " also fashion wise he was rocking the wool suits and some bathing ape...nikka was fitted af...

MBDTF- this was a combination of literally EVERYTHING YE HAS EVER MADE this is his MAGNUM OPIS.. A timeless album I can't even begin to describe how lush and how amazing the production on this album is... Also the nikka was rocking the red leather suit with the Horus chain...fitted af
WTT-same type of production as MBDTF plus he was holding his own with Jay sometimes

YEEZUS (yes it's debatable if it's wack or not) if you say it's wack I won't try to convince it wasn't ...I like certain cuts..blood on the leaves..on sight..bound 2
TLOP-same...

TLDR; THE nikka HAS 21 GRAMMYS, PRODUCED FOR EVERYBODY FROM HIP HOP TO RNB TO POP, CHANGED HOW nikkaS DRESSED IN HIP HOP (no more baggy jeans and timbs) KEPT HOVS MUSICAL RELEVANCY, GAVE THE CAREERS OF

BIG SEAN
JOHN LEGEND
KID CUDI
CYHI
MR HUDSON

REVITALIZED THE CAREERS OF

COMMON
PUSHA T
TITTY BOI
MOS DEF

GAVE BIRTH TO

DRAKE (sound wise)
ASAP ROCKY (fashion wise)
CHILDISH GAMBINO (sound wise)
J COLE (nikkas whole career has been trying to recreate the college dropout)
ODD FUTURE (Earl and Tyler worship Kanye)

AND COUNTLESS OTHERS..

KANYE IS A GENIUS AND HAS CHANGED HIP HOP :whew: FOR THE fukkING BETTER TOO:ufdup:
