What prevents the south from getting active like the east and the west with black movements ?

there really isn't that big of a difference between racial politics in 2015 between the regions (hell on the low the Midwest might be the worst area in America to be Black at the moment)

not shocking nationalistic movements are usually an urban thing, the South historically (it has changed in recent decades) was a region dominated by rural living (little known fact the Black Panthers got their inspiration from a black group in Lowndes County, Alabama so that isn't always the case)

Like another poster said, we don't really mix like that in the south. Even the black dudes that hunt with white boys hunt, hang, and go back to their respective communities. I can go weeks at a time without interacting with white people. I would imagine being holed up like rats with people who hate you would make you insecure and psychologically damaged enough to keep begging white people to love you

This, black folks in the south have Been living some what independent from the white man. They might be a little bit lighter in the wallet but they live there own lives and have their own communities
