real loose definitions of "reinvention" going on in this thread......
i'm glad Pitbull is winning this because he is clearly a different artist/personality now especially when you talk about lucrative moves

plus he's the type of guy who could be a congressman

first here, then cuba when it opens up more

4real tho

Pitbull gonna have access to missiles by 2025

He literally turned into a tap dancing c00n:

:bryan:

Will.I.Am been literally tappin' for so long now, I completely forgot. He shoulda been in the poll. It's turned out to be a very lucrative reinvention.

Can't believe nobody mentioned Everlast

Started like this

:mjlol:

To this :leon:

Then this :mindblown: :ld:

Very radical. When he dropped Whitey Ford, I was like :dwillhuh: ... going back to your roots as they all do, eh. :mjpls:

but it doesn't appear lucrative enough to make top tier even tho he went triple plat eventually off Whitey Ford. He even named it Whitey Ford (is Everlast a baseball historian?) :mjlol: ... and then followed the shyt up with White trash or some shyt :mjlol:

How about Young Buck? He was a nobody when he was 1 of Juvenile's UTP artists until he got with G-Unit.

You can sorta say the same thing with Meek Mill. He was just another up & coming artist when he was 1 of T.I.'s Grand Hustle artists. He didn't become relevant until he got with Rick Ross & his Maybach Music imprint.

Natural progression.

Cam'ron.

He reinvented EVERYTHING about himself. Style, flow, everything

:usure:

As another poster pointed out, Cee-Lo should be up there too. Homie went from rappin about Behold the Pale Horse concepts to dressing up like a flamingo with a parrot on his shoulder... and he caked off of his reinvention heavy. :wow:

But yeah, Reinvent yourself, brethren. :mjpls:

Andre 3000 is the most obvious answer then Cee Lo:yeshrug:

I was gonna say this, but to be honest I think both dudes just progressed into what they always wanted to be when given the spotlight solely as opposed to actually changing from what they were into a whole different product.

Ft. Stewart, Ga
Doesn't apply. He pretty much came in the game as a funny part time rapper dude who acted.

Nothing radical at all... aside from the bank. :wow:

No the fukk he didn't.

DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince were REAL full time rappers with three full length LP's under their belts, including the first rap double album and first Rap Grammy win. Will Smith didn't get into any type off acting until 1990 when the IRS came at his neck and Benny Medina came up with the Fresh Prince of Bel Air concept based upon his own life story and seeing Will's natural charm in music videos.

On the list, Pitbull.

The skill is still there but the hunger is gone....

Eastside of that Motor
It has to be Latifah, Cube, Dre, and Snoop.

Literally went from street kids to global icons. Think about it, everyone knows a "Snoop Dogg" or an "Ice Cube", now picture them as multimillionaire movie stars doing mainstream commercials and hosting award shows :ohhh:

Will was doing casting calls before his first album dropped

@Address_Unknown

3Staxxx is natural progression and it really hasn't been a money grab for him.

Cee Lo was/is more radical reinvention on a caricature type level. And it has been lucrative for him. .. he wasn't the most conventional dude anyway , but when he started transforming he went ALL the way left field in a less gradual way and with more pomp on a grand stage . .. really exploiting himself . he said on one of his albums that he was selling soul. :wow:

@Eastside Get The Money

Exactly!
