i know it, and you know it, from life

i don't have time to break down what group of people is saying what... there's 7 billion people on earth, i'm sure your breakdown is off just as much as if i'd try to break it down

what i do know, and is plain to see, is that in 2016, wu is way more talked about on all statuses than bone thugs... nobody even discusses bone thugs... i'm not talking the coli, internet forums and shyt

i'm talking about tv.... when's the last time you heard a random bone song in a movie/tv show/event... when's the last time another rapper brought up any member of bone... when's the last time you saw a movie and bone member appeared... when's the last time you heard the radio and they said a member of bone was coming up there... when's the last time they got some press... when's the last time someone did an article on any of them?

as a group... they sold more... like someone else said..... as a solo artist hammer did more than 99% of rappers... so did vanillla ice.... what does that have to do with their stamp on the game? who gets more respect and has more legend? rakim or hammer? krs or hammer? drake selling a lot.... he on the same level as rakim to anyone but sprite? dmx outsold jay... who got more legend and respect and is on another level??

you can't just say, "we talking about them as a group" and ignore that they dropped 5 plat and gold CLASSICS as soloists before they even did album number 2... now it's 2016 and rza scoring hollywood films, making 2 of his own, meth done at least 20-50 movies/tv shows, and they still have a name enough to command 2 milly for an album

Maybe I should have reworded the threat title, I meant purely on a musical level not sales. But the thread went towards this direction and I cosign this post, you cant dispute these facts.

Op should retitle thread "how come wu tang's sales don't match the tall tales of their so called greatness vs the real leaders of that era" or how come east coast media loves to praise the dude's that weren't running the game and only do so for nikkas from over there "

So now you're saying why didn't bone make similar music to wu? Why would them are anyone lean toward a Style they were dominating at retail?

Im just saying their beats and lyrics were not on the same level

Wu lyrically and production wise trump Bone every single time

This is a subjective opinion,NOT A FACT.
A FACT IS BONE DOUBLED THEM IN SALES MEANING THE GENERAL PUBLIC WERE MORE INTO WHAT THEY WERE DOING THAN WHAT WU WAS DOING.

Dont care about sales or who's what, but i'll say this; Wu-Tang as a brand is super strong & always been.

Add the fact that Wu technically had the whole industry behind them being that every member had different solo contracts along w/
the Wu as a group.

Bone also had Eazy dying at a critical time in their career. And most of all they got into it alot. So has Wu of course but as a result most Bone members started cluttering the game (not at first, but after a while) w/ filler solo albums & material right & left. I'm sure that wasnt too good for the brand. Plus the legal issues, the drug issues etc.

But of course. Hip hop's dominant media is from the east and they've successfully talked up a lot of failures from there. Like illmatic OB4CL etc

No I'm talking about mainstream media (i.e not "Hip Hop media") in France talking about the Wu. Did you really call Illmatic and OB4CL failures tho:francis:

Because they cold bit the Freestyle Fellowship like Ice Cube bit Volume 10.

Those gangster types could never do what the real underground mofos were doing.

"GP Bear they didn't bite them!"
This came out in 1991, and is a million times more artistic than anything BTH did
