like davey dave said, there are a lot of duplicate recordings (as well as covers of other songs) in there, a lot of them went from label to label or had their label usurped and therefore had to pump out more records, albums were like 8-10 tracks back then, plus the numerous "live", "greatest hits", "collection" albums, not to mention they all dropped a lot of music early on when trying to gain traction on the radio when they were unknown...lastly, many ere very forgettable albums.

Let Jennifer Hudson or Mary J. Blige, or hell, even Latoiya Williams sing Adele's last album track for track and they'd destroy Adele in every facet. But we all know they wouldn't sell 30 million because there's just something about a plain white woman who can sing like a black woman. It's sad.

Actually Prince keep work coming out but as side projects and such.
