My dad was horrible. He was abusive and very controlling. To both me and my two older siblings. We did not have a mother (she died giving birth to me) so my sister tried her best to help raise both me and kankuro to be nothing like my dad. So anyway onto my dad's career. He was a hustled and taught me to sell dope. He was violent with us and this broke me. I often lost my temper and hurt others.

I remember how when I was around 7 8 or 9, he was trying to teach us not to answer the phone when we were home alone one week. A few days passed and we had forgotten about that lesson. He stepped outside and called the house one day, but I could see him calling the house. The window and door were still open and I could see him and he could see me. I thought he needed something so I answered. He got mad.

You could just be standing eating a plate of chicken and this guy would blindside you and unexpectly hit you with a belt on your leg causing you to drop your chicken. This For irrelavent stuff that happened months ago. He found things to give you beatings for. It's like all he knew how to do in the beggining as parenting as the bad cop was to deliver beatings.

It all came to a stop when one day I got seriously pissed off and had a sudden and uncontrollable fit of rage when he tried that crap again. I grabbed the belt and pulled it from him. after that he was just like . I was like . Inside I was like waiting for something to happen. But nothing happened. He just said I was disrespectful and walked away and told all of my aunt's and uncles that all of his kids were disrespectful but they all knew what he was like and told him to tone that crap down.

He never hit us afterwards. It took a while but we eventually got on much much better terms.

My pop's a old school Chicago hustler. Always on the grind and always looking for the next move. He had 15 siblings so pretty much everybody in the hood he grew up in knows him or someone else in my family. Pops and my uncles was/is the GOAT support group. Between my pops, uncles and all the cousins i got those nikkas made me feel like I could accomplish anything and I always felt like someone had my back. Right or wrong.
Pops cheated like crazy on my mom but he never hit her and when they divorced he made sure she would never need or want for anything. Dude was always there for me and even tho he was really strict back in the day I see why he was and I respect him more for it.

Now we're best friends and we even do some business together. True stand up guy. That's the main reason why I haven't had kids yet at 32, cuz I see the work he put in and I know I have alot to live up to so my shyt needs to be together before I drop that seed.

Raised himself so he was practically my older brother from ages 6-20 My coming of age moments forced him to grow up and be a better father. When he was good he was great, when he was bad he was fukkin terrible.

Had a father son convo with him and he said he was having dreams of himself flying over his hometown of beaufort south carolina with his dead father. Looked me dead in the eye and said when I die give me a proper funeral and do not hold on to shrines, pictures, etc let me go son. Ninja died a week later march 27 2011 two weeks before his 50Th bday
