Only thing I didn't like about skits were when they were put at the start of the song.

when I was youngerThis is exactly the album I thought of when reading through the thread. Skits are crucial in making the world building of an album. They set the tone and helps tell the story more, something you may not be able to do in two to three 16-bar verses and hook.
I think more rap albums should have skits, but most albums aren't conceptual enough and I'm not sure if a lot of rappers now can craft an album to do something like that. You essentially have to write the entire concept down on paper and form it out. Skits definitely need to make a comeback.
