After graduation I worked three jobs for a while, and one of them was at a bowling alley as a porter/busser. It was terrible. Working late shifts, getting garbage juice on myself, customers looking down on you, all for $8 an hour. I lasted one month and quit when I luckily got more hours at my current job.

Because of that I always make sure to be as helpful/positive as a I can when dealing with waiters or people working customer service. Those jobs deplete your soul.

+rep. This man never lies. I worked at a restaurant/pool hall/bowling alley downtown chicago while in dental school of all times. Pure hell. I was a cook/food runner/busser. That shyt was horrible. The restaurant was literally the size of 2 gymnasium and I had to walk around picking up plates, filling bar wells with ice, tossing out garbage, loading garbage in a bin to be taken to a large, filthy compactor downstairs, cleaning bathrooms, etc. It was especially awful when we had parties, which could range from 500-1000 easily. Customers looked down on you, servers treated you like trash. It was hell. The only reason I put up with that was because I made 9 plus tips which could be anywhere from $75-$150 per night. Also, when I worked in the kitchen, I worked under this crack head executive chef who literally was bi-polar. He would scream at you for the same order ten times. Face was always bright red. Just hell. I have an appreciation for restaurant workers too. Thats why I went hard as hell in that thread were nikkas was like whats the point of tipping.:beli:

Also, working at restaurants opened my eyes to how racist mexicans were. I would put them literally under whites and ahead of asians as the most racist group. When I worked in the kitchen, they would taunt me and another guy. They would call us shyt like chango(monkey) and moyo(******). This one barback from guatemala would literally call us ******. I couldn't do shyt because it was 20 of them against at best 3( they fired blacks for little shyt and replaced them with mexicans), plus I was holding on to the job till I was done. But yea them mexicans were pissed. They had special hatred in my heart when they found out I was dating this mexican girl from school.

UPS trailers :snoop:

The pay was horrible with relatively few hours during the week, the work was extremely tiring and took place from 10 at night till 3 in the morning, and the trailers where I had to unpack and load parcels into were so fukking hot during the summer. It was also depressing seeing so many undereducated forty somethings work there. My two months there made me realize that if I could sustain that kind of a working environment, I could easily conquer anything academically.

I was an unloader in college and it was bad but it had some perks. They offered me a supervisor position after a year. I was like :childplease: I'm only here until I finish college. But its a good gig for someone in college or even part time if you can handle the heat. I worked the twilight shift.

I always thought UPS would be piff cuz u get in shape while u make money right :manny:????

I only worked 20-25 hr per week. Its a good part time gig for college students and those who can handle the heat during the summer. When I first started I was at 9.00 you get raises a year. You have to work there for years before you become fulltime. The guys you see delivering packages been with the company forever. Its alot of pressure getting those parcels out on time. But it was a good experience.

RGIS inventory specialist freshman year in college. going to different stores late at night scanning and counting shyt. the job itself wasn't that bad but they had the most retarded people working there.

Also at a woodworking shop. i was the only black person there amongst polish dudes from greenpoint. the equipment and machines was old as hell most of the dudes there couldn't speak english and only gestured even when working with the machines. some puerto rican dude lost his fingers on the table just before i started then quit. some of them were cool but man these dudes ate only sausages and tomatoes and played polish music all fukking day. the worst part though was when the sawdust trunk came i had to help unload bags of fukking sawdust in the back of this huge truck.

Working at a movie theater. At first I was like... free movies? :jawalrus:

Then I had to be an usher tear the tickets for the people going to see the movie or clean the theaters after the movie was over. :shaq2:

shyt was horrible, standing up all day and tearing tickets is probably the most boring shyt I've ever done and that shyt went by slow as fukk.

Then having to clean the theaters after something like The Dark Knight came out was :scusthov:

Around the same time I learned most people were a$$holes.

Me too. My first job was at a Carmike theater, and I hated that shyt. I used to let all my people in the movies for free and the lil' bytches I worked with used to snitch on me. I ended up getting fired over that shyt.

Dunkin Donuts was my worst job also. The Indian who ran the store worked us like slaves. They let teenagers work the store all day until night time, and then show up just to lock the doors.

Why do Indians always own a Dunkin Donuts? lol
