What will it take for the NBA to overtake the NFL as the most popular sport in the USA?

Hey, maybe a black-owned sports league once and for all, will dominate
and overtake the white-owned NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL?

Our people will come out in droves to make it an overwhelming success, right? Right?? Right???

Man who you tellin

The idea of parity is that one of those teams might on one lucky sunday(not even during the playoffs) scrape a win against a real contender and they can write a week of articles about it

that is their idea of fake parity.

If the NFL were a 3 game playoff series the Patriots would have won the last 6 superbowls
THANK YOU! I've been saying this for a while. NFL parity only exist in the nfc. The AFC hasn't been wide open in nearly 20yrs. Pats have dominated the AFC East more than any one NBA team has dominated their division. NFL parity is an illusion. I'm a die hard dolphins fan. If the pats win our division again, I'll chuckle if anyone fixes their mouth to praise the NFL for their parity.

12 of the 16 AFC teams are the browns. Who's gonna win the AFC outside of New England, Pittsburgh, and occasionally Denver?

:stopitslime:

When I say Browns I mean 0 shot at doing anything relevant before the season even starts. That's 25 teams in the NBA.

NBA is fukking trash at developing a competitive league :camby:Im actively disgusted with them this year. And I'm a Lebron fan too.

Progressive, a players league, fan/kid friendly is all good but the inmates (the players) run the asylum and it shows.

See, that's where NFL parity is judged differently than the NBA. If a bum NBA team who didn't make the playoffs last year, makes the playoffs this year, if they get whooped by Cleveland in the semi's or conference finals, no one views their run as relevant, and folks don't count that towards NBA having parity. But in the NFL if X bum team who didn't make the playoffs last season, ends up making the playoffs next season, than it doesn't matter if they get whooped by New England in the playoffs, folks will still view X team making the playoffs as a relevant feat, and will count that towards the NFL having parity.

That's because more then half the league makes the playoffs in the NBA. It's not an accomplishment to be an 8th seed

Oh no woe is me poor fan

Three of those are Lebron led teams lol

I think the problem is unlike the NFL going into most seasons u pretty much know there's only 2 or 3 teams with any chance to win it all and unless you have a player who is arguably the best player in the league u have no shot to win a title going into the season. That's deflating as a fan.

In the NFL teams can come out of nowhere.

Nobody saw the Falcons winning it coming into the season and if they would have just ran the ball in the 4th quarter they'd have won a title

Why does half of the NBA go to the playoffs? 16 teams make the playoffs? That's terrible.

More than 2 or 3 teams having an actual shot at winning a title (People will come in here and say it doesn't matter but yes it does)

Until then it'll never happen

Achieved only by making NBA playoffs single elimination
