What will it take for the NBA to overtake the NFL as the most popular sport in the USA?

I've seen more Curry jerseys than Bron jerseys. He's the new shinny, new toy. The new marketable star. He looks like a high schooler.

Plus the christian values thing, his wife, his sliver spoon upbringing. He's safe. Attainable. Not like demi-god Bron.

The funny thing is, AI was Curry's favorite player growing up.
the appeal of curry is every kid believes they could become him. bron is a genetic freak, and kids realistically can't be bron

it's cute y'all have hope NBA gonna overtake nfl.

y'all talk about oversaturation but 82 games is too much to keep up on for a casual fan and games on every night

nfl fans pretty much just plan around Sunday, it's much more of an event.

and y'all talk about predictability when everyone already called the finals before the season started

I doubt the NBA ever overtakes NFL in the US but I think it can come in 2nd and it damn sure would be 2nd in the world I assume....

If the NFL keeps softing the game and pulling bullshyt like with Kap I know I would toss the NFL in the bushes but a lot of that comes from me being more of a basketball fan than football...Like I say I don't really care about baseball, soccer and NHL however so my idea is skewed.

I don't know if this has been stated but the NBA needs to start on Dec. 25th and end right around the time Football starts.

Noone pays attention to the season in November etc

Proudly haven't watched more than 2 minutes of NBA basketball this season/playoffs...

Why?

Because we already knew who'd be in the finals before a game was played...

How to fix this?

Stop babying the bytchmade athletes
Stop letting the bytchmade athletes form all star teams

Baseball is like 3rd most popular sport in the US. Hockey is 4th. and they're a distant 3rd and 4th because they have no personalities 'cept good ol' boys who "play the game the white way"

You have no idea what you're talking about. Baseball on a local level is still hugely popular and bigger then the NBA in alot of cities and the World Series ratings last year were great.

Just because it's not popular in your circle doesn't mean it's not popular anywhere

The NBA will never overtake the NFL. Hell, it's not even close to MLB in terms of popularity.

Im pretty sure cricket is still the 2nd most popular sport in the world. Not sure if that can change in the future, India, Austrlia, in the caribbean etc its the most popular sport.

It definitely is far more popular outside the US than the NFL....nobody gives a fukk on a serious level about the NFL outside the US

Thing is that some of y'all always forget, Bron is only like 3 years older than Steph. There probably won't much of a gap between the two retirements.

These dudes don't get out or don't watch sports shows besides that shyt on TNT. Dudes trying to downplay the MLB. I don't even really pay attention to it, but opening day is a huge sporting event, one of the biggest of the year, in most cities with a team. Baseball is still fukking huge and is obviously more popular than the NBA

Ohh, awesome. Family's from the West Indies. But isn't cricket basically the international version of baseball in a way?
