Smart Move
  • Take less and sign with Chicago
  • Take less and sign with Miami

Dumb Move
  • Take max and stay with Knicks= Lots of money in #1 Media market = Lala is happy.
  • Take max and sign with Lakers= Lots of money in #2 Media market= Lala is happy to be in Hollywood.

Sadly, the dumb basketball moves are the best financial moves and less nagging from the woman. Then again i can't blame him for going after money. This will be his last big contract.

He's going to LA, Chicago or Phoenix (major darkhorse).

If he goes to Chicago, he's basically tying his future to Derrick Rose's knees, because Chicago has to amnesty Boozer and give Gibson away for nothing. Then they have to rebuild their front court. I don't see how that's gonna work.

If he signs with Phoenix, they'd have a starting lineup of: Bledsoe, Dragic, Melo, Frye and Plumlee with Green, the Morris twins and Tucker off the bench. They have like four first round picks in the draft too that they could probably package for another star player if they wanted. That's a lot of firepower.

Edit: Dallas would be an attractive option too.

Goatganda the pearl of Africa
lol at melo giving up any money.

looking at the knicks salary situation, stoudamire, chandler and bargs come off after next season, only shumpert, prigioni, and hardaway jr are signed after next season

so melo can stay and the knicks can reload or he could leave money on the table
