What would Nintendo have to do with the NX to get you onboard?

As crazy as this sound they need to appeal to kids. My nieces & nephews give two flying fukkks about Mario. It's like trying to explain to them the dude from "Are we There Yet" was the most gangsta rapper ever :manny: They don't get it. Nintendo has to take a chance and make a mature exclusive imo.

Last time Nintendo made an in house mature title, they made Geist.

Spoiler alert: Geist was not very good.:scusthov:

Every Nintendo home console from the NES to the Wii U with the exception of the Wii has sold worse than it's predecessor. The Wii U won't crack 15 million in sales worldwide before it gets discontinued.

NES sold 61 million
SNES sold 49 million
N64 sold 32 million
Gamecube sold 22 million
Wii sold 100 Million
Wii U is at 13 or so million

Unless Nintendo can come up with another gimmick it's clear their diminishing home console audience likely won't push their next system past even the Wii U's numbers. Nintendo seems to drop about a 10 million purchase loss average between most of their generations.
What them game boy numbers like?

Eternal Darkness says hi. They already tried that and it didn't do anything major.

Nintendo needs to double down on what they do best. Making kid friendly and family friendly games. They put out their system with a modest price and appeal to the audience they already have. Ride that till the wheels fall off then shift to third party

Trying to do what Sony and Microsoft do will alienate their core audience and fail miserably.

Nintendo isn't going to capture the Sony or Microsoft crowd because those gamers are satisfied with what they already have. They also for the most part aren't interested in Nintendo style games.
I don't think so. I've seen the "I wish Nintendo went 3rd party" posts online far too often. I'm willing to bet if Splatoon came out for PS4/Xbox 1 it'd sell gangbusters,. That shyt sold 4 million on the Wii U alone... If that was a multiplatform title, it'd be nuts. The problem with Nintendo consoles has always been simple, they're simply not good enough as stand alone console. Like I can't see the average gamer buy a Wii and not game anywhere else(PC or Console.)

Nintendo fans only claim to not want games that aren't on their systems.

High powered graphics, a normal controller, and affordable. Give us the games we want, when we want them.

Nintendo really hasn't made a top tier system since the SNES. The PS1 was weaker but better, the Gamecube was pretty lackluster, the Wii was garbage and the Wii U was even worse.

Just because they make several high quality games in a console generation doesn't mean the systems as a whole are good.

Nintendo's feverish fans will defend them but secretly if Nintendo partnered with Sony or Microsoft and let them put out the console and just dropped exclusive games for it I bet deep down they'd be cool with that.

pretend like everyone wasnt playing catch up to the monster that was the wii brehs :mjlol:

Nintendo could invest in independent 3rd party developers that can creates tons of new IPs, on top of making more varied games than their competitors, who still on that first person shooter phase. Variation and exclusives will win at a time where more and more hardcore gamers are pissed off of the lack of variety.

Most of the 3rd party companies that survived the last 10 years of the recession, are out of ideas. They can drop their franchises for the NX, just that gaming needs new IPs from new developers that can make their games downloadable. Gaming can't take another generation of graphics hounds copying off one another, or else it will crash.

First party wise, Nintendo can drop brand new games at launch and drop HD remakes for cheap. They have to be aggressive with it, cause they don't have the Sony stanbase/ excuses that allows them to go 3 years without an exclusive AAA game.

Also make their products Apple and Android friendly. And keep it simple at the same time.
