You only have to have a High School Diploma or GED to be accepted at a Community College.

Unless you have a fully paid scholarship to a university. Then the smartest move is to go to a community college and take your core classes for a fraction of the price you would pay at a university. Transfer to a university after completing all of your core classes.
I agree with the poster that said community college students are more welcoming. But that also depends on the university.
In my experience, U Memphis students were way more welcoming than UNT students.

Besides the obvious crazy stuff they do on that show, It's not to far off from that show.Meh, I would say Community College is like High School with freedom & without the restriction of High School AND without the social/peer pressure of High School & Middle School. Community College is DEFINITELY a lot more chill & a breath of fresh air compared to High School.

Undergrad at UNT
Finish undergrad and graduate at U Memphis

You're actually winning a whole lot more when it comes to community college.
Federal grants is enough to pay a semester. Where as you need federal grants + student loans to pay for a semester at a university.
Lets do the math.
It cost me no more than $300 a semester at a community college. I received $2,000 of federal grant money.
$2,000 - $300 = $1,700 in my pocket of free money.
