Whats stopping Tinashe from making it to the next level?

1. Stick to her mixtape sound. I fukked hardbody with her "Black Water" mixtape which was ethereal and minimalist in its sound (think the Week nd/40 Shebib) but heard "Aquarius" was full of more upbeat party stuff. Nothing wrong with that mind you but she cut her teeth on more atmospheric, substantial music so she should stick with that the fans she does have happy and wanting other people to hear her music.

2. Fire her manager. Her single selection for "Aquarius" was terrible. "2 On" was a great single but she waited like 8 months to release that tepid "Pretend" single with ASAP Rocky. Not only did she fukk up waiting that long in between singles, but it was such a bad single that she lost all momentum from "2 On". A big rule for an artist that doesn't have a grassroots movement (which she doesn't really have) is that you gotta release a MONSTER second single to win the publics trust.

Generic singles, blatant desperation to go mainstream, pushed comparisons to other more interesting artists by team, boring image.

If she had released something like Cold Sweat or Feels Like Vegas after 2 On she'd be in a much better spot.

im 99% sure she was the second artist that iheart tried to push. it's 100% certain that iggy was the one they pushed first and it worked, but

so either they stopped pushing her off the strength of that at the request of someone (which i kinda doubt because iggy didn't break down until like 6 months later) or they realized she had no talent.

Every thread about her it's a bunch of nikkaz for her cuz they think she looks good, but nikkas ain't buying r&b albums, her music that was put out to the masses was basic as fukk, nothing said go buy this album, nothing made her an artist to check for. Y'all want to call people ignorant because they don't know her mixtape from however many years ago, she's done nothing to make people feel the need to go check her shyt from way back.

Generic instathot looks. Titties but no ass. Mediocre voice. Shrinking fan base for Black women in R&B. She needs to develop more creative range and get better promotion.

Her label fukked up doing that to her and lacked objectivity. They tried to extend her reach and exposure too fast with 2 on and songs like all hands on deck but it hurt her more than it did her any good

Pop music you need to be surrounded by the right people who know how to make the right moves,go with the current trends,publicists,etc.

Hell I don't listen to her music much, but i've been hearing alot of people say FKA Twigz makes great music,is slept on yet she isn't huge here. I imagine if she had a better machine around her she'd be way bigger.

Not to mention she needs to impress the females first and foremost..and females can get petty. . She needs to find her own sound, the minute women feel she tryna weasel her way into B, or Rihanna lane and . ..you may as well @Big Boss her.

But let me piggyback onto the petty shyt...for instance i've seen people who think that Jhene is fake with her 'hippy' shyt. Tinashe could be herself and i'm sure some women would still think she is fake.

Ehh, you're overextending how far women go to hate. Most chicks are not looking for a reason NOT to like a new female artist, it only becomes an issue when you do things like step to a fan fave (keri stepping to beyonce....Ciara vs rihanna). I've never heard anyone hate on jhene, they may not like her singing...which we can all admit isn't the best, but no one sits around nit picking female artists, you either connect or you dont.
