think of all the nikkas you were friends with in high school or back in the day...theres a good chance you aint cool with them anymore today..or you dont have problems you just went your separate ways or in different directions

dre and big boi have been together since they were kids basically. it aint easy to be around a nikka like that even if you made a bunch of money with him. you just go where you want to go. i do think dre is probably the reason they dont do really anything together, i'm sure big boi is always open to do something.

Ok, I understand that. Then get all the waaaaay the fvck away from hip hop then. Don't do your lil overrated 2 verses a year on Rick Ross or Jeezy singles. Don't do the shows. Make it clear to Big Boi you don't wanna be a part of the game anymore, including doing shows. The last thing hip hop needs is a prominent, even legendary artist, going around projecting that he's embarrassed to be a elder statesman, and performer, within the artform. Sh!t like that is one of the reasons people that aren't fans of hip hop don't look at it seriously and don't respect it. These artsy n!ggas is weirdos but even Kanye weird ass don't act like he's embarrassed by hip hop.

This is the EXACT reason why Hip Hop is where it is now. Lot of legends are too prissy and close minded. And not giving a great path for younger cats growing up in the game something to follow. That's why the new rappers out now act like little kids running with guns. Legends gave them no base or historical knowledge of what Hip Hop actually is

Don't tell me that doing part of your song, which isn't uncommon, is selling out. It sounds like an excuse not to perform to me for whatever reason. Either stage fright or beef. Something is going on. I'm speaking about the Super Bowl story that just dropped. The reason given don't make no sense to me.

Big Boi Says Outkast Turned Down The Super Bowl Because Andre 3000 Didn't Want To Shorten Songs | Hip-Hop Wired

Big Boi Says Outkast Turned Down The Super Bowl Because Andre 3000 Didn’t Want To Shorten Songs

NEWS, BIG BOI, OUTKAST, ANDRE 3000

Big Boi appeared on ESPN’s The Dan LeBatard Show yesterday, November 5, to make his selections for Week 9 play of the 2015 NFL season when the topic switched over to performing at sporting events.

Back in 2004, Outkast were just getting warmed up from the massive explosion of their diamond double album,Speakerboxxx/The Love Below and performed at the 2004 NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles. However, Big Boi revealed that they could have had an even bigger stadium status show, had the been on the same page.

Around the same time, the iconic Hip-Hop duo were apparently asked to perform at the Super Bowl but under the conditions that they had to perform a melody of the aforementioned album’s singles, “The Way You Move” and “Hey Ya.” Andre 3000 wasn’t with the idea and the opportunity to perform in front of millions on top of millions, escaped them.

“Andre didn’t want to cut the songs, he wanted to do the full songs. He said, ‘Nah, can’t do it.'”

Realizing the seriousness of the situation, Big Boi was asked how much he was nagging his Aquemini twin to see the bigger picture to which he replied “A lot” with a laugh.

To this day there are no hard feelings and Big Boi says Andre 3000’s son Seven tells him, “Daddy, you should have performed at the Super Bowl.” Ya think?

Elsewhere, Big Boi plugged his new EP with Phantogram, Big Grams, which is currently available now.

I don't know about "beef", but I'm sure there is tension. Dre is weird...doesn't want to perform "old" songs(strange since he is supposed to be playing Jimi Hendrix in a movie and all his songs would be "old"). Due to 300-, they have left millions on the table. Think about it like this - they are from ATL, so they get crazy love there. They did a few shows in Atlanta last year - first time they have performed i their own hometown in 10 YEARS. Nevermind all the touring they could have done all over thwe world.

as i said before it has always been the industry makin dre bigger than the group...speakerboxx n the love below....pretty much showed u which way the industry wanted to go...hey ya drew that line..as group before hey ya...they did everything together...

hey ya...drops...letterman...leno..regis..etc want 3000... album started winnin awards..it got worse..so what dre does..he stops performing...started lettin big perform...n started doin interviews...i posted a video awhile back ..i think its in this thread

it was either the vma or the ama...they won an award...big accepted it..n it went to dre...he was suppose to do hey ya....but dre decided to do prototype...soon he finished..he threw it to big...the show was suppose to end...but they forced dre back on stage...it get back to dre n he goes for the umpteenth time..then goes into hey ya...

soon as he decides to get back into tourin...after coachella..why he gets a spot on ellen...how come big didnt get the invite..

big was on chelesea alot when dre was in the background..

big can do multiple albums...but his promotion n tv n radio runs are scarce..

outkast finally decide to do 10 the hard way...watch how many spots they get jus for dre...

shyt look how they did the goodie mob...took cee-lot out the group...cee-lo did the solo thing...disappeared reinvented himself..n industry didnt know he was already a known artist

treated him brandnew....

I remember the VMA awards performance where Andre said "And now for the MILLIONTH time...HEY YA GODDAMNIT!"

I thought that was just general disinterest in still performing the song I had no idea he was "forced" to do it. How could the VMA's "force" Andre to do Hey Ya if he just said fukk it?

but dre was like fukk that shyt we together...if he aint gone perform im not doin it...

so dre does prototype...

backstage they had to scramble to get big ready to perform..kuz soon as dre started prototype...fonzworth said the looks on faces was upset...so then big instantly came out again....
